Thanks to you both! I actually got it working, but after playing a while I understand what you mean, Eggwink. I'll probably play with console input, and just pray the recording and splits don't get messed up.

In my set up right now, I'm only using one monitor for both playing the console game and the pc I'm recording through (because of space limitations). It is doable to play through the recording, since my capture card have very little latency. But I would love to hear the sound from the game I'm recording. Is that possible in OBS?

I'm playing with joy cons. I get this trick to work inconsistently, I just wonder if it is easier with the pro controller?

Also, is there anything more to the trick than ground pound + X Y B at the same time that I haven't heard of?

Hello everyone! I want to try speedrunning, and would like to speedrun Odyssey. However, I don't have a capture card. There is a couple things I'd love to know about speedrunning, before spending my money on one.

• Does the capture card save the video on the card itself, or does the video save on the pc? In that case, how much space do you think a 1-2 hour video will occupy on my harddrive? What quality is required?
• Because of an unstable internet connection, I probably won't stream attempts. Is it still possible to get the "splits" overview that I see a lot of streamers use? Is there a special software I should use to time my runs?
• Lastly, is there a big drawback to only having one screen? Logically, I guess that would mean I wouldn't be able to see the clock or the splits, if I got it working. Thank you :) I would greatly appreciate all help I can get.
