Not sure that it's Dolphin exclusively, I run on dreamcast and have definitely noticed this on RE2, specifically in the streets, the very beginning. The zombies on the first road are always consistent BUT every now and then, on the usually totally empty alley/street to Kendo, there will be a zombie there! It's like one out of ten times, very weird. I've also experienced an interesting bug with the door in the next section, the ones the zombies break open. Sometimes the door will open but it looks like it's still closed, you can run through it and everything lol really weird. I've only encountered this one while speedrunning. I'm not sure why the game does the extra enemy in the street though, I know the zombie outfits can change like sometimes you get the black shirt blue jeans zombie, sometimes it's the yellow shirt (off white?) shirted zombie, but I guess there's another element of RNG there? Would love to see anyone be able to elaborate on this!

My setup won't allow for it. I'd have to jump off my couch to my computer smack the keyboard and hope I jumped back to the couch in time to control the game. Then i have to stop the timer in the same fashion. And if I mess it up I'll have to retime the entire thing in real time. It's just not worth it to me. I mean I'm sure youd agree, that's totally impractical, not fun and a royal pain ya know?

I typically use livesplit for PC games not retro console games. All good, have fun guys, I'll just play somethin else.

Hey man, I'm not sure why anyone would assume the driving isn't included. My end game time and video times aren't radically off or different. There's a couple minutes difference but I'd have to chalk that up to loading times, not knowing EXACTLY how the in game timers start and finish, if they round decimals of seconds down, etc. I'm not really sure why we're not using the in game timer, especially for a console runner like me, that's a lot seemingly unnecessary work just to check my time at the end of a run, ya know? I'm pretty sure that would mean I'd have to time it after the fact of course, which means I'm sitting there for like 20 mins after each run just to determine my time (yikes). As of now I don't even know what to do because I have a run to submit but I really don't want to have to re-watch every single run I finish in real time just to time it, again for a reason that I'm just not seeing at all man. Just trying to contribute here. I love this game, I'm certainly not trying to be difficult. Like I COMPLETELY agree with your initial statement, personally. I really hope we're going back to in game timer man, like, PLEASE haha

Also holy crap I need to adjust my settings, way too many frame drops smh video quality is trash for real. I'm about to check out that sticky in the forums haha

dude I just looked at my old run and I forgot how trash it is haha I get a full zombie attack animation once, certain lines could've been better, didn't go straight after the spade key (best strat at the time was 180 and go back down the stairs lol). Now I see just going through the library let's you skip that entire marvin scene which means no interruptions nor having to go back up the stairs. Plus I think it's just faster from a point A to B kind of way lol basically faster in every way. Also no one had realized you can slip between the monitor on your way to take the elevator down in the lab, all this combined has me excited to drop that time down. Hell I don't even need to worry about them medallions atm lol way bigger fish to fry! Thanks man your advice just made me realize all of this. Like I was thinking about looking at my old run too but when you said it I was like "ok I just watched 3 modern records, let's see mine again" and just wow lmao it's exciting to see this game becoming more and more optimized. I think I can get 5th with just cleaning up what I said before. Seriously thank you again man, not only were you totally right but the way you approached my question was genuinely positive, respectful ,thoughtful and even uplifting tbh. Love this community and mods lol

Ok so I think I can get back to top 5 if I have a better understanding of how this works. I understand that people are pausing after getting a lightning fast glance at the puzzle and get the solutions so they can input them asap. But where are they getting that precise info? Are they just writing the possible outcomes down before the run and checking which one it is? Can someone help me out with that? Also I'm seeing pauses to seemingly make certain events happen faster, such as the zombie that burts through the door early on and I think I even saw one after you pick up the spade key when you hear a zombie make a noise. Would someone be kind enough to walk me/everyone through this? Break it down or something? I'm convinced this is the biggest thing stopping my times from being better atm (current PB is 7th at 53 mins on ng+) lol thank you so much in advance!

It's looking like damage is directly tied to FPS which lends a clear advantage with the knife but my PC simply cant handle that, but I still want to run this game something fierce. Do you think we could make a 60 FPS lock category? If this has already been discussed I truly apologize, I'm a little new to the site. I feel like that specific category would make sense to have, a great one to maintain the integrity and spirit of the game along side the likes of glitchless and any %. What does everyone think about this?

PS my PC isnt trash but definitely outdated so if anyone thinks they could help me find a happy medium instead of this solution I'm all ears, whatever makes the most sense! I'll post specs if need be! Thanks in advance everyone!
