I believe this should be mandatory to be used, as Game Time would be more precise and it would remove PCs differences. At least the load remover, but the plugin seems to allow you to choose if you want to autosplit or just remove loading times, so it's a win-win situation for everyone. If the other admins are fine with this, I'd be glad to rework the rules a bit regarding the loading times.

As of now, I worked with Szalasz, and he came up with a viable way to create an autosplitter for all cups (and possibly for other categories as well). His plugin will come with a load remover as well that works even with command line -sload. Since that would standarize the whole loading time issue, I believe that exiting the game (alt+f4 trick to skip the trophy ceremony cutscene) would mess up what we just solved, making loading times not count and thus removing the slight advantage a person with a better pc could have had. It also would introduce the issue where someone could split the run and make it effectively segmented without any possibility from us to be able to notice it. I believe this rule should be removed from the current ruleset, but I also want your opinion on this and on how we should treat old runs that make use of that trick. The current idea would be to retime all current runs (for loadless times) and add the time that got saved by the alt+f4 trick at the end.

We don't open a new category for every time save, that would only keep track of the strats actually used and how the game evolved. It has been done with the picks because of how different the gameplay gets without picks, but for the instance models the only difference really is just nhood1 car and maybe toytanic's chairs.

Adding a new category or variable for a time saving strat doesn't make any sense, and we can't have a different variable for every settings or parameter either. The only real separation we can do is RVGL and Re-Volt, so that runs of original Re-Volt (any platform) will be placed in a misc category, and I will do it when I get the time to do it.

For now, runs are recorded with the loading times included, alt+f4 trick is still allowed. I'll eventually find a way to get livesplit to automatically pause when detecting a loading screen.

Turns out that alt+f4 actually works. I'll clarify the rules a bit when I get the time, but it can already be used (rip consoles, I guess putting Re-Volt and RVGL in 2 different categories would be the best choice imo)

If I recall correctly, you can't alt+f4 out of the game because the game won't save the data. Yes, it would save time (alt+f4 and reopening the game would be quicker than waiting 20 seconds), but the game doesn't save the progress if it's not exited normally through the quit button in the frontend.
