Hey Dg, you can turn on the in-game timer through settings -> gameplay -> gameplay counters as the rejection message mentions
^ They were meant to be removed, I forgot while I was moderator and since it's under Misc it's an out of sight out of mind thing, NotJohn may not be aware they're there
There already is coop for both full game and ILs, unless you mean Fucking Run! or Contractions?
https://www.speedrun.com/titanmeme_2/Blood_and_Rust added it to the category extensions board
- Try telling that to the rest of speedrun.com and see how that goes
- I'm not allowing submissions with no gameplay onto the board, there's literally nothing to verify with that. Generally when video evidence is required for a speedrun, it means the actual game being ran on video. I'd be a little more sympathetic, not by much, but you state in your submission you didn't record because you were lazy. That's nowhere near a sufficient reason to even contemplate allowing your submission onto the leaderboard. Regardless, you need video evidence of the full game being ran to get onto the leaderboard.
Due to the incorrect time being displayed on the final "Thank you for running" screen, any% runs will instead have to have both of the IL times added together manually. Final screen will still be required in the video.
Regarding IL times themselves, they're sometimes off by a variance of 0.01-0.02s. For the time being we're gonna continue to use the IGT though.
Nope no specific order, just gotta do all time trials, also is this a separate discord from the general Pac-Man Speedrunning one you're talking about? Don't think I saw anything there about all time trials
Just looked at the IL rules and for whatever reason the deletion of that rule didn't register earlier this year, it's fixed now
Hey Dragonxiv, I'm not sure exactly what you mean as this thread was for the removal of a rule rather than the placement of a rule. Your run you deleted is valid evidence-wise after taking a look at it in the audit log too.
Haven't seen if this was posted yet, but I just noticed in a game I moderate that the thread options bar disappears after editing a post in a forum
Just saw your leaderboard moderation request post and realized my message never sent here lol, @OneHitYouQuit that is a requirement yeah and DirtyDekes I'm sure did submit a run with their game request as they have some runs on their youtube, they're just not automatically added to the board upon the board's creation. The submitter would still have to create a category to add the run to which seems never happened. Also patience KaTiON :) soon
You seem to have misunderstood me, I didn't say being active is unrealistic, I said the vetting process would be unrealistic, and again
anyways it's no biggie, stuff like this is what the request leaderboard moderation thread is for
https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/dueac here's the thread for whoever wants to request, make sure to read the first message as the thread states though before posting
That'd be an unrealistic vetting process for new users/new games considering site staff would have to actively monitor a user (multiplied by however many more are in the same situation) for a bit, but anyways it's no biggie, stuff like this is what the request leaderboard moderation thread is for
Activity on one's profile isn't really a criteria for game requests since there's people that speedrun just one game or want to start speedrunning with one game that may not be on the site yet, the person does have a few runs of the game on their youtube but for whatever reason just never went through with finishing setting up/being present
Starting today, every category is going to have its evidence requirement changed. Listed below are these changes.
-
Classic: Video evidence is required for all classic runs.
-
All Star: Top 5 requires video evidence, the rest can be a screenshot of the IGT on the Final Results screen. Existing top 5 runs with screenshot evidence will not be retroactively removed.
-
All Challenges: Video evidence is required for all All Challenges runs.
-
Unlock All Characters: Video evidence is required for all UAC runs.
-
1v1 Ironman: Video evidence is required for all Ironman runs.
-
10/100-Man Smash: Top 5 requires video evidence, the rest can be a screenshot of the IGT at the Results screen. Existing top 5 runs with screenshot evidence will not be retroactively removed.
This is a change I've wanted to implement for a long long time. To be transparent, in the past we've had alts and fake runs posted to the board with no video evidence to prove this outside of doing some snooping on the speedrun.com accounts themselves. There's also been numerous newly created accounts in the past that've submitted and only submitted to this game without evidence as well. This change is being implemented partly because of this and to up the quality of the leaderboard itself. Having large parts of a board with no proof at all does not look good. No proof makes a good portion of the board pointless when a lot of runners' times can't be held accountable because there's nothing to prove or disprove a time they got, lessening the quality of the board.
Whether or not runs without proof will stay up is still somewhat up in the air, and if anyone has good reasons why they should stay, I'm all ears. As it stands, these proof-less runs can't be legitimately verifiable and can only be speculated upon. Other 3DS boards are able to handle proof requirements just fine with categories several times longer than most of smash's, so I think we can do the same.
