Or it's the age-old policy of divide and rule. It would be more interesting to try to bring more competitivity rather than splitting empty leaderboards.

Looks more like a device split between keyboard and gamepad rather than making the place more "tidy", the leaderboards are empty to this day.

I don't see any advantage using an emulator rather than the good old console if the specs are matched, it's just better graphics. Besides that, the console is nearly 30 years old and we may not see more people using it in the future.

You do what you want, you bring that game to SRC. In my opinion, I even think we could gather the glitchless and glitched runs together as it's part of the game, and it doesn't give a huge advantage on the clock from my experience.

if winning the survival mode can be cheated, why not reversing the purpose of it and ruining the car the fastest way possible ? It's in the spirit of speedrunning, still beating the clock, and it's not excluding this mode from the list.
