In the meantime, I'll do some more runs now that I've fixed my input. I just wanted to vent for a second, I hope you understand how frustrated I am lol.

I was doing some runs in Donkey Kong Jr. for the first time in a while today and ended up getting a PB. I was really excited about it, but upon frame counting and taking another look at the run, I noticed in the controller input display that I was using the turbo A and B key inputs for the entirety of my recordings today. I will post the video below so you can see for yourself:

I'm very disappointed that I did not take a closer look at the controller input before I did my runs today, but I'm wondering if this actually gave me an advantage during gameplay. The only instance where I'd need to mash buttons is when I climb across vines, which the A and B buttons are not needed for. Either way, I assume I will not be able to submit this run.

I don't know if anyone else has used or known about this, but I think I discovered something in the PRG0 ROM of DK Jr.

At the end of the second stage, if you go as far to the left (right below the vine) as possible, turn around, and do the backward jump trick (as used in the level 3 glitch), you completely skip climbing up the vine and beat the stage.

I don't know if this saves a lot of time, but I thought it was neat to share.

You can see this being performed in my recently submitted run. Currently pending.
