Mexicoi know i said "in the next couple of days" but i had time so i already changed it lol. rules have been changed! i also had to re-time every run on the leaderboard lol, but it was worth it. no mor in game timer shenanigans
we are currently working on that. rules are going to be changed in the next couple of days to RT (real time) instead of IGT. retiming is gonna be manually done by the moderators so speedrunners don't have to worry about that. about livesplit, you can make your own splits, though i don't think it makes much sense since the order of the levels is completely random, so your best segments are gonna be real funky lol.
yeah, i don't really know how much the cpu affects the timer, or what does at all. i just know that different runners have different timer speeds on their runs, which doesn't make much sense. about irl time vs in game time, i did too consider it could be unfair for those with low end pc's, but i haven't notice much slow down in the frame rate itself on any of the runs submited to the leaderboards (only in the water section, because it's poorly optimized), it's just the timer itself that goes at a different speed, making me think that's the way the game shows lag, but i don't actually know so i think i have to do some more testing on that. i guess if you have a bad pc you could just put the graphics to the lowest possible.
the in game timer is pretty incosistent. watch this video i made about it. if you don't wanna watch it, im gonna resume it. basically, it seems that the timer goes slower/faster depending on your computer's speed, while not actually affecting the frame rate (exception being the waterfall section). this means that you have a slower timer while playing at the same speed as others. i made some comparations and i had the fastest timer while fabe and zipstyke had an slightly slower timer. but actually watch the video, it makes sense.
so, i wanna speedrun this game with a friend of mine and did a test run. i know you can reset save files by clearing the browser cache but i don't know if that is gonna work because i play it on flashpoint. so, anyone knows how can i do it?
if im playing the game on flashpoint, do i have to checkmark the "emulator" box or what? thx
