When does the timer start, when does the timer end. Ones that make sense to me that have been used are as you press A to begin the game and the first frame that the zool team appear on screen at the credits.
So this is released on the switch now! It seems to almost exactly the same and emulated, but with some extra modes and quality of life stuff.
However there's also mappings for turbo-attack and turbo-jump available! What do people think of that? Allowed, from an official release? The turbo jump would allow the first castle skip to be free I think. (or maybe 50:50 if it's once every 2 frames?). Anywhere else while playing levels normally the turbo-jump is basically like a free 1 frame tap jump whenever you want ;)
I've found that the pausing to skip text boxes and first castle skip are still there. However I think the 1 block opening at the back of the final castle has been patched out (haven't checked that one on "original mode").
there are weekly challenges going on here! The first of which is speedrunning The Outpost.
General descent discord! some speedrun convo happens there too
The boss robots can be kept in the same place by leaving the game running for long enough before arriving there:
Does anyone know any more about this?
Here's the forum where single level categories were discussed enough to add them onto this site : )

I noticed that when you collect an cube/anticube, notably the Achievement code one, normally collected in the first room of the game, you can jump as you finish the pick-up animation -reaching a higher height than normally jumping. My question is; can you input the achievement code somewhere later in the run that allows you to jump to a higher platform quicker, etc. meaning a time save as opposed to just collecting it right at the start.

(4:45 for the glitch. )
Anyway, the lesson is, don't kill the initial mouse-ball too close to edge of screen.
Similar to the Undertale Punchcard stuff maybe!! (not my video; thanks to EchoingClock)
