Hi, I'm new to the game. Is Lone Wolf allowed in any categories? I don't find it mentioned in any thread or game rule. Thank you and have a great day.

It is now clear that individual levels are not timed properly. Since those levels are very short, full precision at 30fps is necessary.

I propose the following criteria:

  1. first frame (frame A) is the frame in which Flagman is in reset position. This is the start position of the level and it is ALWAYS available, even without pressing "reset" and even if there is a setup like the boss boost;
  2. last frame (frame B ) is the frame in which Flagman touches the opened door, and it is determined by the presence of the black border. The black border is star shaped and it determines the end transition of the level.

Also, I suggest that all future full runs (glitchless and any%) are timed the exact same way. First, a check of all the run is done by eye, to see if all rules are respected. Then, frame A and frame B are determined, with frame A the first frame in which Flagman is in reset position in level 1, and with frame B the last level ending, at the appearence of the black border.

Do you agree? Maybe we need one more moderator to help retime all individual levels.

As already mentioned before in other threads, It's possible to use the reset button or menu button to basically conserve the vertical speed in flagman.

This opens a possibility to perform the "boss boost".

Here an example which clearly shows how powerful can be for individual levels.

I found them all :p

I found a glitch similar to the reset glitch, it may be called "menu glitch".

The vertical speed of the player is conserved when pressed "menu" from one level to another. You obtain the same result by resetting, although in this case you cannot change level.

Here's proof in level 13. This allows the level to be completed faster.

Should this be allowed to achieve better times in IL? I guess not but a new rule is required in this case (I hope yes actually, I like exploits and glitches).

You should understand that this can be done easily without intention and many individual level runs can be affected with this. In the example, a big starting jump that should be impossible is achieved, and it is "clear" that it comes from the menu glitch, but other cases may be ambiguous.

Here's another example of good utilization of this glitch. in which a very small initial jump (impossible to achieve otherwise) is utilized to complete this infamous level incredibly faster.
