I wanted to run the game but in an any% category, there is only a hard category for the moment

Hello there I'm really sorry that the run's verifications take so much time. I'm not really involved in the speedrun community as i don't have enough time anymore (because of work, friends, etc...) Don't hesitate to contact me on twitch/skype/mail (ihsoy314@gmail.com), and i'll come back on speedrun.com as quick as I can. Anyway i agree with the fact that it would be cool to get another momderator for l4d1 but I have to take this decision with flicky as we are both maint-moderators, i can't take this decision alone. Hello there, sorry Nasood, i wanted to contact you to talk about your run before accepting/rejecting it, but i was a bit busy with my studies.

I see that you use something that change the "halo" around weapons and stuff. It is not white but colored. How are you doing that ? Are you able to do this with the console on official lobbies ?

Because skins and mods are not accepted. (for exemple, making the hunters yellow would be too easy)

By the way, I don't think that 3days is enough to blaim moderators about a run that has 0 submissions (solo The Sacrifice) and where 95% of the runners are either friends or inactive.

These are not stupid questions, cool to see that you're trying to do your best to be legitimate ;)

I don't really know what is legit or not in that category. That's why it's still for me a "misc" category. It seems that the 3 runners that submitted a run don't use the same rules. You should probably talk together to see what you guys think legitimate. Once we get clear rules we can add it on the leaderboard. (playing on version 1.0? changelevel allowed ? insta killed bots ? http://www.speedrun.com/l4d/thread/o20iz)

When we run full campaigns in coop, we don't use the changelevel command, but i guess that we'll not go against all the runners of the category if you want to challenge each other with your rules.

I used to answer to questions like "is ... allowed ?" by "if you can do it on an online-official-steam-server, yes it is allowed" (like biding keys to change difficulty)

I don't know if you can change your crosshair on those servers, but i agree with adam's post here about what he says about add-ons : http://www.speedrun.com/l4d2/thread/ervic "purely cosmetic" is not that unimportant.

That's only my opinion, feel free to debate (and sorry for my bad english ^^)

Timing is a really tricky subject. I guess that you would have to start the timing when the first player enter in the room, sadly... When i run with my friends, we try to avoid this problem by changing the graphic options. I have a cool PC so everything is max and I local record. My friends have very low graphics and we appear in the room in the same time. Maybe if you have your own server/you host it can help too, i don't really know.

I don't know if there is an expert leaderboard somewhere but i don't think so. If you know other people runing the game on expert, tell them to come here to begin this leaderboard.

Feel free to submit your videos in another category if what you do does not exist for the moment, tell in the comments what you are doing and we'll add the categories =)

I pretty much agree with Adam, the segmented runs from freezard are on 1.0 too isn't it ? If everyone is Ok with this disctinction Coop = steam version / Solo = 1.0, i'll put it in the rules.

Hey there, The category is under "misc." for the moment because of different things :

• what are the rules ? Are you playing on 1.0 ? Are you alowing the fact that the bots are insta-killed at the begining ? (the other guy runing this category uses this trick) How do you go from one campaign to another ? (you quit the game when the cinematic strats and launch the other map from the lobby when Hakha seem to use a command to go directly to the other campaign)

• what are the timing method ? We could put an RTA option but it will be quite unfair for ppl that have long loading screens. I guess that until there are more runners we can afford that and i'll just delete the "without loading screens" in the rules.

But if we get a clear description of what we are runing i'm not against the fact to put this category as a real one. By the way I think that this category should be coherent with the "all campaign"

Of course if someone strats to run expert categories we'll add that on the leaderboard. We could put a "difficulty" option that could be "any" or "expert", "realism expert" or whatether.
