Greetings friends; I wasn't sure where to ask this.

When you hold target, then slightly down, then press A, Link rolls to the side -- sometimes left, sometimes right. Usually right. I'm glad he rolls right when we are doing Ocarina Dive in bottom of well, for example.

So it seems that by default, Link will roll to the right. But something about doing certain setups preparing for DoT skip makes it so that Link switches from rolling right to rolling left.

What is the something?

For example, if Link is in the mode where down+A causes link to roll right at the DoT, I seem to be able to fix it by executing backflip -> left sidehop -> backflip. After that, down+A causes link to roll left again.

Where can I learn what exactly is causing the siderolls to go to the left or the right? Or is the answer simple? Thanks!
