I don't know if I'd call Akinator a video game, it's more so just a novelty. Twenty questions is a game the same way that Mad Libs is a game.
When the Platinum model was released in 2002, it was marketed as "limited edition." After around a year or two later, Nintendo decided to sell them regularly alongside Black and Indigo. The limited edition bunch (as well as older GameCubes) have the model number DOL-001, as well as the digital AV out port you're looking for. It sounds like you have a second model Platinum GameCube.
I've actually been running on the Origin version of 2000 DOS. This version has DOSBOX set to 20K cycles as well, I'm not sure if there are any differences though. As for the legalities, I say we allow scenario loading. It puts us all on a level playing field rather than having to endlessly cycle through random maps. And I agree with you two, editing map ratios does feel too easy.
The current background is really low quality and ugly, here are two that I think would fit the theme much better.
