Did you check downtown hotels yet? Much more accessibility to 24 hr food/fun stuff in the city. Only downside would be if the hotel is more expensive.

I would assume any popular Hampton in the city, of which there are quite a few, would have free airport shuttles. Also check: Hyatt, Hilton.

Also, I can personally go and check out any hotel within the city limits, so it might be of interest to call up and see if they have the rooms/internet required.

It depends on the date, for me. I graduate in the first week of May, so if it's in May, I won't be in the city anymore.

I will ask my apartment roommates if they are going somewhere for spring break. In the event they will be out, my apartment can hold quite a few people and is right next to the university. It's why I suggested that date.

Couple notes. I can offer up the closest hotels to whichever venue everyone decides they want, just let me know. No matter where you are, as long as you're in the city limits, there WILL be food. I mean 24 hr delivery when I say that. You'll probably have the option of pizza, chinese and sandwiches, with various options to choose from.

I will ask about Internet speed, because our standard WiFi may be quick, but that's only with a staff login. I don't know how, but different people have different Internet speeds based on if they're staff or a student. If it ends up being at my college (University of Illinois at Chicago), I recommend the closest hotel which is a 10 minute walk from the venue and a huge amount of 24hr food places (it's right in Greektown, which like it sounds, has Greek food). Internet tells me its $180. As for going to and from OHare, there's a simple solution. We have a transit card which works for all of our transportation (bus, subway, etc) and is super cheap and easy to use. From the airport, there's a direct subway that takes you right to UIC, which, like I said, is a 10 min walk from the hotel listed above. I'm sure they do group discounts.

My vote goes for March 21–25, which is Mon - Fri.

Once exams are over, I can talk to some people, make some calls and see if we can get a group discount or if I can get one for being a student. That room above is in Student Center West, which I believe is the more expensive option. Again, I can "try" and talk to the computer science people and see if they might be kind enough to offer advice.

I know it's a possibility, but I don't know the attached costs. I can look into it. We have a computer science group which hosts LAN parties, but they do not like speedrunning, I believe.
