What's so hard about modifying outdated rulesets and category criteria?
@yoshii A rational person managed to use logic and reasoning to convince other rational people that the leaderboards are flawed, and one of those rational people he convinced happened to be the owner and operator of the site, who then turned control of the board over to a moderator who has so far proven to be unbiased and reasonable, unlike the previous ones. The previous moderators showed plenty of 'higher favor' when the 'certain runner' was banned from the discord because he was harassed while the person who actually antagonized him(who was a moderator of the leaderboard) received no punishment whatsoever. Additionally, 'majority opposition' is irrelevant when the 'majority' is toxic, immature, and wrong.
I'd also like to point out that a single person complaining was not the 'undoing' of this community, it was the inappropriate and immature reaction of the cancerous growth that resided within that community that caused it to split at the seams and fall apart. A leaky roof is not the fault of the rain.
Wording Bricriu and also voting to keep me out of the community. Please just let me die.
Yes, ⬆⬆⬆⬆⬆⬆legitimate autists.⬆⬆⬆⬆⬆⬆ ¤cough¤ :)
I've always wanted to witness someone who's been buried alive try and claw their way out of their grave and I gotta say, after this ordeal, I've been satisfied two-fold.
Reminder @JC claimed to be paying attention to and listening to other viewpoints but somehow missed the fact that multiple people, myself included, pointed out any% and any% NG+ are different things and should be separate.
@Kromer What point? All I see is shite.
@Almarkowbender Correction: You would have the WR in your own category the mods would make so they don't actually have to fix the leaderboard :^)
⬆⬆Heated man trying to play it off⬆⬆
@Kromer Just because someone is a friend/acquaintance of/enjoys a person's content doesn't invalidate their opinion. The community was 'destroyed' by the vitriol and idiocy of the 'people' who 'moderated' it and the 'people' who 'moderated' it alone. Had they not shit themselves at the thought of changing the 'rules', none of this would have happened.
You ARE correct about 4 people(assuming you mean 4 and not 4 thousand) people destroying the leaderboard, because that's how many moderators there were that decided to get triggered over someone going fast in a videogame.
@miakx Do you have any evidence of this crying or are you just using buzzwords to try and shut down legitimate arguments?
@miakx Just because I do one shitty run of a game doesn't automatically make my opinion more valuable. Leaderboards should listen to whoever is the most correct, regardless of if it's some runners, some viewers, a school of fish or the ghost of a dead cat.
"We shouldn't listen to the rational opinion of rational people who know about the game from watching streams/videos because they haven't done a run!" "We don't need to improve and clarify the rules of the leaderboard because of one run! We should wait until the wound festers and becomes a problem before doing anything!" Guess who I am.
@Jcstrickland89 Purposely obfuscating and being vague to develop a guise of being neutral is not neutrality.
@RE_Snow Why do you keep bringing up "One person does it"? Only one person has used it because it's essentially taboo to do it as evidenced by the drama that resulted as a result of its use. I'm sure more people would start to use it if their runs weren't looked down upon and swept under the rug via an alternative category.
@Morse66 Why does it matter if you can't switch framerates on all of the versions? That just means they're slower and thus whoever chooses to run on those versions is accepting that their run will be slower.
@Jcstrickland89 I don't think it's fair to discount framerate switching because of a disparity between the IGT and real time. If this can be excused without banning framerate switching, then I'm all for IGT being used.
Any% ng for all 3 difficulties, any% ng+ for all difficulties, allowing any methods that beat the game as fast as possible. Remove 'Pc Variable' from the filters since it will be obsolete since framerate switching will(should) be allowed in any%. Remove save & quit and save & quit+ from the leaderboard altogether since they'll be obsolete if framerate switching is allowed in any%. Change the name of "SW+" to Separate Ways+ to keep it consistent with the other category. Runs shouldn't count as segmented for going to the menu to switch framerates. If saving and quitting causes a large time disparity between RTA and IGT then the leaderboard should be timed based on RTA from now on. Having to retime all of the runs will be an issue, so why not just retime the top 5 or 10 current runs and time all runs in RTA from now on. If someone with a time that isn't in the top 10 wants theirs retimed, they should be able to handle it themselves.
the main categories for the leaderboard should be any% easy, any% professional, any% ng+ easy and any% ng+ professional. everything else can go under miscellaneous categories.
