that's a dang good looking background tbh
Hey guys, thought I'd post this for those who want it. We have a discord server for anyone interested in learning, or is actively running the game. Most the top runners and cool kids are already in and active, so feel free to hop in! It also makes regular Bingo races easier. ;)
Reminder you personally insulted me just now, while I did no such thing to you. Also 2/3 mods want a background. Does this mean you admit you think yourself higher than both of them?
EDIT: You admitted you don't speedrun stuff anymore in your post (screenshotted if needed), and you posted that you need to run the game to have an opinion, which both mods have said they want. What point are you saying here?
I don't care about necro'd post, I mean right now, as GhostScit added a background that's now gone.
If both GhostScit and gamebrain1 added a background, why does Token's authority supersede two mods?
Both the mods times are also above Token's (who only has one run in last place on one category), if it's required that someone run the game to have an opinion, why is a background taboo based on one Mod when multiple people, including 2/3 mods with better times support it?
Hey guys, I posted this on the Series forum as well, but since this game's the most popular run, I thought I'd post it here too. Feel free to join if you want-- both runners and people interested in learning it.
Just wanted to post this for anyone who'd like to join. Open to runners of any of the games, or anyone who might be interested in running. :)
"We used to reject games for not meeting entertainment standards, however we have stopped doing that four years ago. Now, we'll only reject games that are too trivial to be TASed, such as sports games or board games or any game which, when TASed, could easily be matched by an RTA runner or a casual player. If you still disagree with this practice, perhaps take it up with us directly instead of complaining about it in places where we may never see it. "
What's the issue with me posting in a thread about TAS' having a section on Speedrun.com? I heard some things about TAS Videos, someone brought it up, I posted what I heard. I even ended the post on that it was just stuff I heard, but you seemed to confirm it's accurate.
You say "wrong on both accounts" then proceed to verify and confirm that they do actually impose their own rules on games, and that you do reject runs based on if they're interesting or not.
I don't care what you do, as this isn't TASVideos. I posted the merit for allowing TAS' on Speedrun.com, as Speedrun.com is a central hub for Speedrunning content. There is no reason they should not be allowed here because you say so.
I apologize if you got offended, I meant nothing by my post though I may have read your post the wrong way. But I don't see an issue with TAS' being on the site.
From what I understand, TAS Videos forces their own rules onto TAS'. Like their own timings, and restrictions. Additionally, I've heard they flat out reject TAS' for games they find "too boring" (apparently this happened with Metal Gear Ghost Babel).
Because of these restrictions and such, you'll see that recent TAS' have two different timers, one for TAS Videos rules, and one for how the community would have liked it. And I hear that there's some communities that won't submit their TAS to TAS Videos because of these arbitrary rules.
So I don't see any issue with having a nice TAS/Segmented board/section on a game's page so the Community can be in charge of their own rules, and not an outside party. It'd also allow many more different TAS' like LOTAD, Damageless, No OoB, or as broken as they want without fear of rejection. This could show off games in new ways and encourage experimentation.
And yeah, a segmented board would be nice too because some games actively still do that.
Just my opinion based on what I've heard.
There's many instances of Mods deleting threads and posts that disagree with their views. We've seen this plenty of times. So if Mods can simply ban any dissenting opinion and call it "Trolling" or "ruining aspect of the community", then you can see where problems would arise.
At first I thought you were just ignorant on what any% is because you've only speedrun Resident Evil before, as the RE4 community doesn't know what that is either, but you have.
You're aware than Any% is from a new file, yes? Why are you purposely acting like this? To appeal to authority that you're "neutral" and "open to discussion"? Or what's the aim here?
We're not arguing Irrelevant Mobile%, we're talking about any% and the fastest way to run the game from a fresh file.
There's a reason there were like 6 other communities mentioned through all the discussions. Because everyone has seen what's been going on, and it's not like you guys haven't been quoted verbatum all over Twitter and Speedrun.com
"no one's opinion should matter except mine, and my tight group of friends who is closed off from anyone who disagrees with my worldview"
Reminder you guys deleted the Resident Evil 4 discord because you didn't like people questioning your opinions.
Funny, that's how you treated the other thread too.
No, Sleepwalker has been consistently in Cyberdemon's chat, and on the new RE4 Discord server discussing things with us.
Why pretend you're open for discussion then? Is there a reason you put on this farce if you were just going to tell everyone who disagreed to sod off?
No mods or cheats are used in a NG run either...?
