Just curious, been a while since I checked and saw that any% uses the beautiful adorable doggy straight from the jump, when I was under the impression any% is done from a blank save. Just wanted to get discussion here, regardless of how long it'd take. Have a good one :)
Hi there folks, I'm trying to do some runs for EDS and intend to do a run where I don't use passwords and unlock all the booster packs (close to 100%, but getting all the cards seems a little silly + i dont know if the game keeps track of %s) and want to know if a category can be added on here for that.
Ripped from a gfaqs post on booster unlocks: Tier 1 - Earn a total of 10 wins in Tier 1: Judge Man Defeat each Duelist 10 Times: Harpie Lady Defeat Yugi Muto 20 Times: Blue-Eyes White Dragon Defeat Joey Wheeler 20 Times: Exodia
Tier 2 - Advance to Tier 2: Tiger Axe Earn a total of 10 wins in Tier 2: Gate Guardian Defeat each Duelist 10 Times: Great Moth Defeat Mako Tsunami 20 Times: Gemini Elf Defeat Mai Valentine 20 Times: Launcher Spider
Tier 3 - Advance to Tier 3: Garoozis Earn a total of 10 wins in Tier 3: Relinquished Defeat each Duelist 10 Times: Black Luster Soldier Defeat Marik Ishtar 20 Times: Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon Defeat Umbra & Lunis 20 Times: Battle Ox
Tier 4 - Advance to Tier 4: Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon Earn a total of 10 wins in Tier 4: Millennium Puzzle Blue Defeat each Duelist 10 Times: Millennium Puzzle Green Defeat Seto Kaiba 20 Times: Millennium Eye Defeat Yami Yugi 20 Times: Buster Blader
Tier 5 - Defeat Simon once: Millennium Puzzle Yellow
Hi, I did a 100% or All Goals run for THPS4 on PS1, can this be made into a category? Thanks.
Hello everyone, I love Rune Glifberg, and I've had a huge crush on him since I was a kid, and due to this I can't bring myself to even attempt using another character.
So I'm asking, what kind of limitations are there, as I am dependent upon using Rune? I don't really know much about the game tbh, but it's fun as hell and I love Rune!
This run was "retimed", but the timing standard is to stop timing when dealing the last hit for ripto. If you take damage at the same time as dealing the hit the cutscene switch is delayed a little, but that doesn't impact the timing rule. Timing doesn't stop when your camera changes, timing stops when dealing the last hit (as so the rules state), so I request this run to be re-retimed and/or retime all the runs on the board and specify the new rule.
Run: https://www.speedrun.com/run/m795wj5y
EDIT: To note, when you take the damage, you don't lose the hit on ripto, the boss' health still goes to zero and the game ends, so the timing should remain as last hit, because that has been the standard and it makes sense. My point is YW1 made a mistake.
Hey buds, I don't really play this game much these days and don't have the time to keep up with much of the moderating so I'm just gonna go ahead and unmod myself.
Seeya lol.
It requires a pre-established save or setting config and shouldn't be allowed in any% categories.
I literally cannot do runs with hints off since resetting the console after a run negates it and it's retarded anyway.
Discuss, fellas.
I noticed there is no category option for easy? Is it slower, or what?
Hello again, all. I'm looking to get started speedrunning this game. Which version would you recommend getting? Is emulator acceptable or should I look into getting the VC version or SNES version? Thanks!
Why isn't "any%" the fastest category? Can someone explain how and why "any%" is restrictive?
how hard would crafting an item counter be for use in max%? Either with livesplit or without. That way you can know for a fact you didn't miss anything in real time.
curious how the ps1 version compares to the other versions. people have told me its vastly different (same with 4, too), and I am wondering if it should be under the same category as the other versions or not. Thanks!
I see in the rulings that "skipping stages is not allowed". May I ask why not? Or why not have an any% category where you can utilize this feature?
Thanks.
Also, I recommend makin the individual campaigns it's own category with each campaign as a subcategory. This board needs to look better and it currently looks very cluttered.
I just became mod for this game due to inactivity from the current record holder, LexoS95, and I completely disagree with the timing metric. Considering there are cutscenes that require skipping in the beginning I think that the time should begin on the menu selection. I have edited their run to reflect this and am posting this here for posterity's sake.
If anyone else stumbles across this board and has anything to add here, let me know!
