General puzzle-solving advice

  • For the Gear Puzzles, remember that the first gear you place, if connected, will cause the bar to go in the same direction. When you place another gear, the connecting bar will go in the opposite direction. If you keep in mind which direction the bar is going to go, it is easier to see whether you need to use a big yellow gear or two small orange ones.

  • For the Matching Puzzles, you can connect either direction. For example, if your choices are "light energy" and "heat energy" on the left and a campfire and a lamp on the right, you can connect "heat" to "campfire, then double click and drag from "campfire" to "light", then double click and drag from "light" to "lamp" to reduce mouse movement.

  • Magnet Puzzles are very slow and unforgiving if you are slightly off! Unless there are only 3 to 5 magnets (and how confident you are with your mouse abilities), Magnet Puzzles should be avoided. If you abandon the puzzle (go back to the stage) and re-enter the door, you will usually get a different puzzle.

  • For the Ramp Puzzles, the modifiers are: Basketball: +0 Watermelon: +1 Beach Ball: -3 Boot: +2
