Is replacing the cartridge port allowed?
I was wondering if replacing the 72-Pin Cartridge Connector was allowed. I'm not very experienced with the NES so I don't know if replacing it affects anything with the games so was just wondering if I could
I'm not sure, but I've heard somewhere that some players custom their consoles for example, to get better video output; replacing the Pin Connector doesn't seem to give any advantage, I guess.
Connectors degrade over time (rust), just like capacitors or rechargeable batteries degrade and must be replaced at some point.
Well it's more of a repair than a mod, really. So there wouldn't be any harm in doing that.
