First, "console WR" is not a thing. There's one WR, and you don't have it (yet).

The reason I'm actually posting this is the Youtube video has no audio. Was it a faulty upload, or does the video itself actually have no audio? It doesn't make verifying impossible, and we don't have an actual rule requiring audio, but I've never verified a run without it before (for this or any other game) and I think we might want to have that discussion (whether it's ok) before I do in this game.

It's not a world-breaking issue, it just makes pinpointing run start a little less than obvious (since it's an audio cue). I'll take a look at the run tonight or tomorrow sometime.

I see your 3 Aug 2018 submission now too. I'll look at that one first and verify both if it's good (which I have little doubt it is) so that way you have both in your submission history. I'll get to that later tonight, have to go to work now.

Impressive technique. You reported 20:48 loadless but in my timing I actually got 20:45, so I'm verifying at that.

If I might suggest a few things -- consider quitouts in chapter 5. You effectively 'warp' back to the entrance after each section, and since we do loadless timing, it's an all but automatic timesave (unless the cycle you get on the orbit puzzle in 5-3 is enough to make the difference, but I severely doubt it). It'll bloat your RTA like fuck, especially on console, but that shouldn't matter.

Also, have you looked at how WR does the last part of 5-1? He doesn't actually assemble the bridges leading up to the button, at least not fully. The jump you have to do to make it a timesave is tricky (he even misses it once in the WR) but it's doable, and it's a good 10s timesave).

There is also a skip near the beginning of chapter 2 that you didn't even attempt in your run. It's tricky, but going for it and missing it shouldn't be appreciably slower than not attempting it, and if you get it it's at least 10 more seconds saved.

Also another question. Would it matter if I had music playing through runs or anything? As long as you can hear the game?

I'm not personally a fan of it, but yes, as long as game audio is also present, it shouldn't be an issue.

So I have two questions regarding a run I just recorded. 1) My controller needed new batteries in the middle of the run. I was able to stop the timer rather quickly and handled it rather well. Was wondering if the run is still good enough to be verified? 2) My grandmother walked in my room and talked for about 10 seconds or so during a load time, could I remove that or do I have to leave that in?

I feel a little bit bad in not explaining the timing rules for chapter 5 quitouts. Time spent on the menus counts, just like 100%. A couple of times you hovered on the menu screen for a good few seconds. That's counted time. You seem lukewarm toward the quitout strat anyway, and for a console player I can understand that. (BTW, do you simply not have a PC that can run the game?)

As far as the grandmother thing -- there's no problem with muting that section, if you have the capability to mute only that part. But the video must never cut away.

And the controller thing....it doesn't automatically invalidate the run, but the timer doesn't stop either. It's no different than if you dropped it, or if you had the horrible misfortune for a run to be the exact time a certain button stopped working. It sucks, but....forgive my bluntness, it's your fault, not the game's.

That said, even with all this taken into account, I did get 20:33 in my loadless timing, so it's still a PB. You're of course free to manage your own timer any way you wish, but the 'LOAD' splits aren't of use to me in verifying (perhaps they were for older, now inactive mods). When I do runs, I have splits for each individual area in Chapter Five, also.

Nice job with the 5-1 jump btw SeemsGood You're clearly very, very skilled at this game (some foibles in the run just verified, but nothing I could improve upon), and I'll be excited to see any more runs from you.

I do have a PC capable of playing the game, I just don't have the money readily available at the moment to buy it for PC otherwise I would. I do the load splits because I have always used that to figure out my loadless times, idk how to do it otherwise haha.
