15 attempts on my mains splits in 2024, 2 in this session, 7.5h on L4D2 in the last two weeks. 130 hours on L4D2 in 2024, most of which were casual versus. I think that says all you need to know about this run.
This is a time that I was ultimately capable of by the end of 2022 when I got my 48:34 (which would've been a 47 without the 30s+ lost on Hard Rain 2 alone), same could be said about my two subsequent PBs (the 48:31 which was even going into Hard Rain, saved the 30s on map 2, then lost 25s on map 3 to similar circumstances, and the 48:25 that was again even through most of Dead Center, but ended up 30s behind after bad Atrium RNG, then brought it back to -6 by the end). I'm just not surprised that all it took was a combined total of 4 hours of gameplay across 3 separate days to achieve this.
I barely played mains in 2023, and I have not been speedrunning anything in 2024 outside of a couple of instances of co-op and grinding some random custom maps. I know a 46 is within my capabilities at this point; there's no way I am (or rather, was) reasonably capable of a sub 2 legacy but not a 46 mains. Just requires me to play ILs to actually be good at the game again. However, I probably won't have the time to do actually do that and then commit to grinding mains for quite a while, so there's a decent chance this PB will stand for a fairly long time. Oh well.
3 golds in this run, 1s on Barns (1:50), 1s on Mall (1:48), 2s on Atrium (1:53). Barns gold is definitely still very improvable, I was shocked it even saved time when I finished it.
No coin toss, good Cemetery RNG, no adren for Swamp 3, best Atrium RNG, no adren on Milltown, no bile in saferoom on Hard Rain finale/really bad horde in the bush in first half of the finale. Also, hilarious moment on Bridge, and nearly died at the very end of Swamp.
