Edit: You click the first branch and drag while holding tab until the line becomes straight. The leaves should be following your cursor. Mouse over each of the fruits and click the second branch. To get the monkey to go across quickly, have them go across, then click back on the first branch before they climb down the tree, so they follow a straight line. If your path goes over any fruit or you hover over any fruit while you have the glitch active, it'll stop working, so you'll have to wait to click on the first branch until there are no fruits in the way.
