Browny category? Or per-character categories?

Congratulations to Skinomarsh for achieving the first WR in Arcade Any% Hard!

Having watched the run, it seems clear that Browny has notable movement advantages over the other characters; he has the dash, the grapple, a TRIPLE jump, and in addition has a smaller hitbox.

At the moment we are tracking Character as an annotation in Arcade mode (the information is recorded but is not used to categorize runs). We'd like your feedback on whether we should:

  1. Promote the Character annotation to a subcategory (so it is used to separate runs).
  2. Give Browny separate categories, but keep the other characters together.
  3. Leave things as they are.

personally I don't think I'll play the other characters, Browny is my favorite but I'm going to do other categories with him

but if you decide to make a category for Browny, you should do it with Ariana and Sheena because they slide and it's slower than the other characters

Lucia doesn't even have the double jump

It's too early to say how all the characters compare to each other, and that Browny would be the only one deserving his own categories. I mentioned in the other thread I think 1. is the way to go eventually, maybe give runs more time in the oven though.

I would love a per-character category just like Streets of Rage 4

We have changed the Character annotation to a subcategory.
