Is jumping any faster than running.

I’m doing runs, and I was wondering if spamming jump is faster than just running on straightaways, like the endings of most levels. If so, would just even-ground jumping be better, or is the jump from a slight decline (I call this a frog hop) faster. If frog hopping is faster, then I may have found an interesting tech with it. Still interesting even if it isn’t fast anyways.

Also on an related note, Is jumping over objects faster than their respective vaults (I.e. standard short obstacle vault and long obstacle vault)?

Yes and no, you lose speed on the first jump but start to safe time on every consecutive jump with the shorthops after that.

About your second question.About the objects that depends on the situation, on some like in the 1-2 its still unclear what is actually faster. gates however are always faster to jump over as the usual vault animation takes way to much time.

I’m asking because I ended up doing this at the end of 1-8, and if it saves time and is replicable, then it may be something new to do.

Interesting i knew those where possible. A frog hop in general usually saves time btw.

Verifiers needed

Hello there, and happy new year!

There has been some slowdown in speedrun verifications, and that is why I've decided today that we are opening verifier applications. If you think you know enough about Vector and its speedruns and have what it takes to regularly check runs and verify their le
