I think it was when the flashing started, but yeah we need to figure out a consistent way to time runs, I"ll message him
I dislike the final input / attack since it's kinda hard to know when that occurs and always requires retiming. FF VI uses this but they use joker doom so it's a given when timing ends.
I think "you win" is the easiest visually, anyone else wanna say?
As title suggest, when do you think we should end the timer. I believe initially I wanted timing to end the moment Homncruse begins to flash different colors since it's kinda hard to realize the run is over unless you retime the run. What do you guys suggest?
Yeah we're holding off on any talks about Star Fox 2 until it gets released, though we'll probably have some sort of discussion leading up to it, it's too early to say anything but it is very exciting to say the least that this game is gonna get a lot of competition in the near future.
I'd say for now having a list of bad clone consoles would be a good step in the right direction, I've played on a few clone systems (supaboy, fc twin), and they feel just about as close to original hardware with the exception that fc twin can't play certain games, and I think some sound issues.
Just to weigh in but me and darko ran Max% best ending way back in 2012 since it was an established category (we called it 100% Best ending), it was more ran than 100%, in addition it was the only "100%" to have a TAS until only recently.
Make a mega man x category extension leaderboard cyberdemon, it fixes everything
As long as runs don't get deleted again this looks like a compromise and besides if dumb categories want added someoen can just make "mega man x category extensions" leaderboard like how super mario bros. make a cat extension board to keep the dumb shit off
Scratch what I said, I think this policy is a much better way http://www.speedrun.com/mmx4/thread/apovd
From the X4 thread, I like this idea a lot
I'm not sure how to respond to this but we definitely need some moderators from MMRTA to be on srcom since it would make it a balanced middleground, but giving complete control to a site that doesn't wish to be on here is not a middle ground, that's a takeover.
If crisco or someone crisco appoints in his place is thrown in the mix, then you'd have compromise and that'd be more preferred, otherwise put the incident behind and start anew.
I've said what would be a good middle ground but I'll say it again.
Mod someone here that is from MMRTA that is reasonable, if that's not possible find a trustworthy person who runs X3 that would keep their values in heart. At this time the only thing different is PS1 and XC being combined instead of separated (MMRTA considers MMXC it's own game).
Link to MMRTA in each game's categories as an alternative leaderboard, that way players who have their runs submitted on srcom don't delete their times and use the inaccuracy argument.
Don't discourage people from submitting to either site, MMRTA is going to always be the most up to date and if there is someone that wants to reflect that on srcom, let em.
Ok so reiterate my post recently, I've seen Mega Man X3 be on the site, deleted, then re-brought up to a fairly decent point of accuracy (the only runs that weren't up to date were auchgard and luiz runs), in which case it was deleted yet again with the epic read the rules post.
I think there needs to be corroboration instead of usurping someone trying to fix a board. ATM I think combining XC/PS1 doesn't fit with how mmrta is handled, but other than that everything else is the same as its setup, no extra categories. Maybe someone from mmrta with a level and unbiased head could join crisco as mod so that a check system is set in place would be fair. In addition, linking to the alternative leaderboard site would maintain accuracy.
You can only wait so long for an API merge before people start to give up, so manually adding and checking is the best point atm, and as long as a link to mmrta is established it helps both sites
Can we just delete all mega man games from this site instead since this is like the 2nd time the X3 board has been erased
All versions are equal when it comes to the speedrun
I recall having a conversation about this a while ago and it does sound like a neat idea but I'd rather other mods for this game and runners weigh in
Click on the rules tab, you can use dolphin but your times will be hidden by default since it's not accurate compared to console. Just make sure you read the rules fully and comply before submitting.
The counter in Colosseum only includes Snagged Pokemon, and it's not possible to snag Togetic unless you snagged all other prior pokemon. Also this game has no indicator that you snagged every shadow pokemon aside from the blatently obvious final fight, so pretty much once that fight ends is best indicator of ending.
