For those whom missed the controversy and drama that was in discord earlier today - I would hold off on answering for now until shit is sorted out quite frankly
In 99/100 cases - if WR does it, you should do it too.
Starman on 4-1 allows to not slowing down in the pirahna plant session which means you can outrun the bullet bill faster, to optimize movement in killing plants with superball in loosing as few frames as possible to begin with is deemed very hard from the explaination I've had.
4-2 Pretty much the same answer..
Now TAS does skip the starman and it makes the use for superball that you are asking for, let me know when you reach TAS level over WR holder and I'll be the first to watch your streams for WR bop SeemsGood
I think its related to the bug, the date fits from what I can tell. My own run is gone as well actually, granted I DID export it to youtube in time so the footage is not completely lost.
same error for me :(
Shouldn't "Darkwing Duck Series" be part of the "Disney Series" together with the other classic disney capcom installments like mermaid, rescue rangers, ducktales and so forth..?
How is there no information out there on this classic? Maybe it was done for an event and there could be some explanation for mechanics or enemy behavior, but there's nothing on SRC??
I could consider running this at some point in the future, but anything up til then will be greatly appreciated inbefore run attempts.
once your inside the wall, hold right, unpause, let go of right, press left when you're about to go off camera from the zip. The zip can be impossible or up to 2 frame window depending on what line setup you got prior. If you have a shitty save state to practice on, that might be a problem. Assuming the camera is fine, do as explained.
Either way, it SHOULD become a separate category at best. Given the amount of effort by many players as of late, and to suddenly include a timesave like this for the current any% when players have grinded out the air zip - is a slap to their faces imo. To make a category just for this would be silly, but to include it in current any% would be unfair just from my own personal experience of running the game.
I just dont want this to become part of the main route, I vote against
There is a discord and people can ask questions if they are interested in high level play, blues for one never even joined and he got 4:05 himself.
A tutorial should be made YES and I'd even do it myself if it comes down to it, but I still think we should hold off another 3-4 weeks to see if we can learn more about the game. A new zip was literally discovered within 5h after GDQ showing, might as well be patient for now so we dont risk the tutorial getting outdated right away.
it's a step towards the right direction, I can live with that compromise. Ofc I don't speak for the rest of the community.
Basically the leaderboard timings changed during me sleeping, removing ms and sticking to full seconds. This change was made by a discussion of no more than 5 people RIGHT HERE, without including the voices heard from the 80 other runnes.
I am personally frustrated because I didnt even have a say in the matter before it was changed, no strawpoll voting was done and this ALL WENT DOWN in less than 9h, not properly addressing the community as a whole. I have since tried to convey my concern about it as my opinion on the matter is fairly strong for more accurate timings for such a short game where ms can make the difference between #20 or #24. Other runners in discord seems to share my concern and it seems this decision was done in such haste that most of us didnt get a chance to speak up.
Thankfully as Mr_Magnificent put it: "I agree with that, but it's not a non-reversable decision".
So lets have a proper decision made with some actual voices heard on the matter before it gets finalized. I want some democracy, without being called out by a certain mod on the matter - it is sad to hear that just because im opinionated however, that my individuality as a person is questioned and described as "bitchy".
My vote goes towards re-instating the ms towards the final timer count.
I am still for ms and will continue submitting my own runs with these included, I'd encourage others to do the same for a tight game like this - just check The Little Mermaid NES leaderboard.. I would also ban all runs with no game audio period, due to splicing posabilities and easier to avoid detection if it isn't included.
Edit: So you men actually already removed ms as an option...
so just to give you ALL an example of how this is shit I have a 4:37:940 according to your rules, that should be converted to a 4:37 how the fuck is that even remotely accurate!?
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MODS TO RECONSIDER
Well that's the only official explaining out there from what I've found - Unless someone makes a more documented one in frame advancing, it's pretty much just trial and error to find a way that works for you it seems like.
Hiryu can instantly clip into a wall in midair under the conditions that he does a neutral jump while having speed. This works when he preserves speed after running down a slope or by doing a midair walljump with no previous d-pad input in midair. The input is slightly different; you need to press left 1 frame before Hiryu clips into the wall & then press right on the frame after. If done correctly, Hiryu will start zipping.
Good question regarding US / JP differences - I'd be interesting in this as well
Normally I would question no emulator, but I have no intention of digging into the J version so I'm fine with the decision. Figured we'd see this category pop up eventually, keeping it as misc seems fair.
So I just noticed that Lion King is on steam, someone should probably look into this and adjust accordingly.
