You could've sent me this through DMs or on discord but sure xd Re-submit it when you get the video done
Yes, currently we also remove the crashes from LRT to keep the competition more fair and less RNG dependent.
I believe the amount of time removed is last frame of the game before crash, to first frame of loading screen after coming back to game and pressing "continue," but it's been @SlivenKage doing the retimes so far so he'd have to confirm.
Note that you don't have to manually retime your runs before submitting, we have to re-check it again anyways so unless you're doing it for your own comparison it's not worth your time
99% games on speedrun.com, competetive or not, require video proof for every run. It's just common sense no vid no did and who knows how much someone cheated or not.
If you can get a clear recording of the screen with your phone then it's gonna be enough as long as everything is visible, but the easiest way is to buy any capture card which you connect to PC and add as a source in OBS, I reckon the cheapest ones are like 20$ at best and they still give you a decent enough recording.
I think it's not even max%, since it still revolves about unlocking stuff that the game itself doesn't track, not playing through casual content like quick race. Imo max% = 100% for this game
In no other game the 100% run requires you to do stuff that doesn't unlock anything. 100% refers to 100% completion, obtaining everything the game can considers as part of its % completion (and if game doesn't track that - literally everything), not performing 100% of every possible in-game action
On the other hand @Alpha_Ni glitchless/inbounds/NMG/NoNOS categories have a reason and a purpose to exist as well. People want to have more things to compete or express their skill in.
Simply - it's a different kind of challenge, I uphold that the fastest way should be the main category, almost always (most definitely always for ILs), but as a category split this is completely fine too.
I would argue that the OOB route changes the route so much for these races, that they could even have separate entries on the leaderboard, think of them as a different racetrack completely since you have to drive a different path.
There used to be an idea of recording an official video explaining timebug extremely in detail. We even had the script ready but nothing more ever happened, unfortunately.
Consulted this with other mods: yep, Citra is ok!
Speedrun.com doesn't support score-based runs, so if you want to compete for highscores that won't be possible here.
Only thing we could do is to have the drift events as time-based events, so the focus is not on drifting but on finishing them the fastest. Problem is the game doesn't give you the time so it'd have to be retimed manually.
All the game's individual tracks are available for you to hunt in the Individual levels area

Unless you meant something different then just like Shiin I'm almost completely clueless
That's a really confusing and hard to understand message right there, you're not a native are you?
Either way, the mod team has 3 weeks to verify any submitted runs, do NOT nag the moderators about verifying anything sooner
We are not recruiting new moderators at the moment, and in Rivals' dead case we would unlikely ever need more than what we currently have
Oh yeah you're right, updating the discord invite rn!
@BalakehB Yeah I'm fully aware of both those facts, however, in this game's case I'd say it's creating a category that's more runnable. Both me and J0nny are willing to improve our times if it's for the "shorter" category because neither of us wants to see drifting ever again
By no means I'd qualify it as a new "main" category but an add-on that would spark some activity for the game sounds good, at least for me
We've just done a full game playthrough of TFATF (PS2) with @J0nny0 and there is only one conclusion: Any% is an absolute cancerous garbage because of the touge/drifts
The first half of the run is great, the first 5 touge events are alright too, but then an absolute unpleasant and inconsistent grindfest begins
The only reasonable category that should ever be considered running is "Grip King" or whatever you'd like to call beating the final street race opponent.
This is just my input but, do consider this. And in case you need more convincing, go and complete the drift campaign yourself.
Tbh there isn't much to think about - you will get almost all the treasures while doing map 100%, the ones that you might miss even with optimal play are Eliminator and Casual Nexus - simply focus on getting those two in early game where you only have the basic colors. All that will be left is 1000 ankhs, puzzle mode and upgrades.
So just do map 100% (with all roads) and then puzzle, then farm coins on that one puzzle level that gives a shit ton of coins (I don't remember the number).
Also in case this isn't obvious - you should still focus on getting the chariot artifact ASAP, since that'll allow you to finish remaining levels the quickest
Making changes to the "Info" tab in "Edit Game" requires you to press "Save" after making any changes; however, as much as selecting someone else to be a supermoderator in the "Moderators" tab is applied immediately with no questions asked. I believe this should be changed to prevent "unfortunate accidents" in the future. Even in the "info" tab a mistake can quickly be fixed so confirming changes with a "save" button is less important, yet that tab has this. For creating variables I guess it works the other way around, since if you created like 20 and then forgot to hit "save" or the page closed you'd lose significant progress.
Yes, I am writing this because I accidentally supermodded someone and can't take it back from him (they were already a mod, just a smoler one), that much is on me, but I think this is a terrible UX design that you just press the role name and it's immediately saved. Same thing could happen if you happen to scroll down yourself to a lower role, and then you'd be stuck with no mod powers, I'm sure that'd be great too.
So yea basically, suggestion/request to implement the confirmation for that tab too.
AFAIK one (circuit?) race is missing in the console version, I am not sure which one but it's just not there. @Shiinyu might know something more specific because it's him I heard this info from.
- The IL leaderboard seems to be divided into Tiers, so you can do runs with every tier of cars and they'll be treated separately 2+3. Shouldn't matter which mode I think, on circuits it's always the fastest SINGLE lap that counts anyways (doesn't need to be the first lap, to be perfectly clear)
I'd do it in the time trial mode tho
