You want Alternative I'm sure, as far as I remember it allows simultaneous use of Tank and Analog control. That's how we usually do it so we can spin a zombie but then go back to tank for straight ish corridors etc (or at least I do) then if you are doing Door Skip you wanna rebind your right stick directions to all be X (Run button) so when skating you hold dpad up and spin the right stick to get the cleanest skates (This is only allowed in door skip, or it was last I ran the game so someone would have to correct me there) hope that helps

I tested this all months ago using the PC version & RivaTuner to cap my framerate at 30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100,110,120 fps. Then compared test results to multiple PS5 Tests

PS5 / Next-gen seems to be capping at 90fps on PS5 using HFR and a 144hz monitor (it only allows up to 120hz on PS5)

I tested this against Birkin G1, G2 and G3. Unfortunately, 90 is just a bit too weak to employ the 120 fps strategies (Birking can actually fight back below 120fps so you tend to get clipped at least once before getting the knockdown Vs G2, as opposed to 120fps where you can drop him immediately) Also, you can audibly hear the difference in knife hits too with it sounding dull and like one hollow hit with 60fps whereas above 60 it sounds like multiple slashes connecting at the same time almost (check a knife only boss on 60 vs 120 and you'll hear what I mean)

All tests on G1 came back with a consistent large time save on 90 fps HFR Mode vs 60fps as G1 does not get back up once knocked down on 90, it's mega free. Whereas on 30 or 60 G1 can get back up and you have to continue slashing him until he dies.

Next-Gen

Enemy behaviour is slightly different in a few places, there is a new pattern in Library in CAS when coming from Stars office, on PS4 / DX11 the zombie by the table would whiff past you every time for free, on next-gen they can turn towards you causing you to need to shoot them (One of my PS5 PB's likely has this pattern shown) Lickers are a little different too, I had to adapt my line in Kennel to keep it consistent. Most other things are mostly the same.

Stair skating is nerfed a little bit but honestly, it is negligible because of the nano timesave on item pickups and all inventory screens and displays clearing faster in a higher framerate. I also personally found the triggers better on PS5 controller and mixed with the higher framerate and refresh rate making things more responsive I am able actually to do my cleanest skates on this version (I have also seen many runners still not quite understand the correct technique of skating anyways, many still mash aim too much when it's actually rhythm & animation based lol )

I don't have any WR in this game but I have run it on PS4, PC and PS5 for the last 5 years with over 1500 hrs logged and many runs in the book. So I thought I might as well chip in on this topic as it does affect me and my recent PB's

To be fair after taking a look over at the Village boards they just need to copy that format and its job done, everyone should be more or less happy, it seems to work well there from what I can tell.

This is a console DVR issue/bug, happens on both Xbox and PS4 (less on modern gen but still happens occasionally) I believe it is due to a memory / storage limitation due to a failing hard drive in the console. This has been shown off before where someone recorded their run while also live streaming, the recorded run had these errors but the stream of course does not. That particular WR runner Dyldor was also very well known in the community and streamed 98% of their runs live so I can assure you that is not spliced. Source: mid-tier runner with 1500+ hours running this game

Long time Dollet runner here, albeit a bad one, I've ran dollet on numerous platforms (none of which are verifiable platforms though until this potentially. Here is my current PB from like 5 months ago --- I also run HD on arcade stick for fun with a current PB of 52 which you can see here -

Sweet! I'm planning on making some tutorials and guides for all the runs I know and currently do well enough to make them worth doing lol (just had time taken up de rusting Tekken 7 for an offline tournament before I get round to making them) as well as mini-guides just on the basics like whirlwind parrying etc that someone new to the game won't know yet :) so once they are done then I'll add them over here!

Thanks for the response either way buddy! I mean I could join but I don't like hiding everything away on discord, this place should be more booming with questions and guides and whatnot similar to other communities I'm involved in but everything is seemingly sealed away over there lol. I wish there were more public discussions and guides and whatnot here like there should be :/

Hi, I just wondered if I may seek some clarification, please?

My question is as follows: for PC individual level runs (fully aware they are NG+ NMG) should I just make a new set of splits per chapter and run them with the auto splitter as usual? (displaying time with and without loads as always) as I've only seen console runs on there so far which are timed in RTA ofc. Also would it be allowed to just submit IL's from a full run? (I can just throw another timer on top of it in obs if needed ) or do they need to be re ran? (no problems either way I just wondered as I already potentially have some acceptable IL times as is) Thank you

Seconding what Levi said, He taught me the skips back in 2019 :) adding my character-specific knowledge: regarding the second Marvin call outside in the rain, Leon may fire and instantly move to the door, Claire it is advised to fire the rocket then wait 1-2 secs for the dust to clear before moving, premature movement may cause the call to click in late which is hella annoying as you feel like you get the skip then it happens last second and screws you. ahh know what you mean now, I forgot this game has a "take cover" mechanic lol nice one will give that a go next time! now if someone can find skips for Kiss and Doy then we'll be in business haha

I was thinking of playing the pc ver a few months back but have always heard nothing but horror stories about it lol

I did try it but not actually sure how to do it? saw you do it in your run but was not able to replicate it? does it require the sniper or?

GNBN is honestly fine now, the real resets are probably end of Kiss (getting into / through that warehouse) that one bit on Humint and if you can make the pass on Doy where i got a little paradoxed then this run could be opened up a little more

I saw the news about LRT and am excited to run again with it in place :) (even if I only currently run meme categories lol)

Hi, I wonder if someone could perhaps help clarify and confirm something for me, please?

I was wondering if I'm allowed to use double Gotters in Intermission NG+ (NMG)? Because they naturally get 2 in their campaign right? so I can run with both or am is it still for some reason only one allowed? I wanna make sure anything I do is always valid :)

This is great news, I already have been running my previous cats again on pc and was wondering what would be happening over here as it is often a ghost town compared to other SRC Communities lol. Happy to call my last run a derust anyways so looking forward to LR tool and whatever else people can come up with (I'll take just autosplitter at this point because since moving to pc I'm so bad at remembering to split! haha)

I am no expert and somebody please correct me if I am mistaken but here goes.

I think the "different number of enemies" OP is referring to is the difference with RE2 and BIO2 the Japanese Version of the game which we speedrun usually (made evident by the text of course, and certain enemy placements being reduced / easier in Bio2. You can check the second floor of RPD along the balcony areas for an example of this, the placements in RE2 are closer and more arranged to catch the player, in contrast to Bio2's free pass every time because they are all in the rounded parts close to the balcony railing thing) As for the Kendo shop guy, I'm not too sure actually, I heard RNG before but I also heard a rumor that it was a time thing (like you have to have a straight enough and fast enough line and he won't be there) I personally think he is RNG as I think the latter sounds like schoolyard tales haha but I am not 100% certain of the exact answer so I wanted to mention both theories :) I hope this helps

I managed to find a way to make the Lycans despawn as well as speed up the survival siege section by up to 21 seconds during the intro section of the game (PS4 | HDD) -

I was recently grinding 2 cats in this game trying to PB by 2/3 mins each which have been so damn annoying (currently abandoned while running FF games) apartments is such a meme and I'm on a console so looks like I won't even get to try the no apartment % FeelsBadMan.

Apologies if this has been asked or answered anywhere but I could not see anything myself. I was wondering in regard to audio during IL or full game runs, would it be allowed to have quiet (video game) music in the background? like everyone does for RE2R (myself included, many of my runs have mgs2 music lol), or is that straight up not allowed for this game? No worries either way but I just wanted to clarify before I may have potentially broken a rule for submission etc
