Oh yeah, it is very fun to play and I would hope very fun to watch. There is a way to get to that first checkpoint in Mermalair by performing a well timed jump spin jump spin but, I haven't tried it out yet.
The game has only been out a few weeks, I'm sure more optimizations will be found for regular runs that could be applied to Powerless.
This game is pretty interesting even with limitations.
A few runners and routers have experienced interest in and theorized spatulas that could be collected for what we have dubbed "Powerless"
No one has really attempted any Any% Powerless NTG runs as of now but, there have been some Any% Powerless TG runs that have been completed. It was quite fun routing the final boss to use no cruise bubble or bubble bowl.
At the moment this is the current Any% Powerless TG World Record performed by yours truly.
DrEvilSin and I are currently the only people who have ran this category. There is quite a bit of time save as once you get to the top layer of the fight you can hit Robo Plankton and ride him up to enter the path for the fuse but, it is very difficult, in my opinion.
It would be very fun and interesting to see categories like these being displayed as category extensions or even on the main boards.

For Any% Unrestricted there are two tutorial videos I know of, one by SHiFT and one by M6. SHiFT's tutorial is more for beginners. Although, both are outdated now, the discord is always open for help.

The leaderboards are still archived. The files for them are posted in the news channel of the BFBB discord.
Leaderboards were archived by leaderboard mods, but at least my "official" wr can be celebrated. Kappa (Fogey had wr at the time btw, just not on boards)
