You can request a Glitchless category in the games forum or by contacting the moderators (forum is better tho').
What about a "Minigame Island All Levels" category? You need to beat all Levels (third place is allowed).
And single World runs? Like only World 1 etc.
Some questions to existing categories: Do you need to be 3rd in any% or can you lose? You still advance when you lose and the level is blue after doing so. It would add a bit of strategy to this because you need to know where to lose. Also, exiting the minigame counts as lose, right?
Last question: I currently don't have a 3DS Capture Card, Emulator is the only way to play this so is it allowed to do runs on a Emulator? It got some graphic glitches so you can't see what the enemies or you are doing but I still managed to beat Minigame Island any% so it does work. Here's a example (take a look at Leaf Leap):
DeSmuME works for me, Citra Master (Nightly and Canary are a bit buggy) worked for me too but I only heard about it after I tested it so i'm not sure if it crashes on RR but it definitely runs faster on some tracks!
Btw, I also noticed that its name is "Toad Scramble" and not "Toad Shuffle".
We can use in-game time, that wasn't my problem! My problem was the Bonus Objectives because then you need to be a bit slower to get these but the goal is actually to be fast.
All Mario Party games are based on RNG but still, all MP games got a All Boards category. RNG is always part of a speedrun, there's almost no category that got no RNG at all!
Why do we need in-game time? Currently you need to get all Bonus Objective to get a WR, imo the only thing you should do in speedruns is being fast.
Why isn't there a Toad Shuffle category where you need to play through all world? The only categories are single worlds.
A small update: I got huge problems with SMK, i'm definitely not doing it this saturday, maybe later.
@DarQ_Massacres I would emulate SMK and MKSC as well, even MKDS and MK7. However, I would actually emulate the Wii VC version of SMK if that's possible because I noticed that the SNES Emulator got a lot of problems with it.
I tested it a bit now and the 3DS Emulator always crashes on MK7 Rainbow Road, am I still allowed to do a run and just add like 3min to the counter or am I not allowed to do a run then? It would be the only track in all games that doesn't work...
Did something happen? I ¤may¤ do it this saturday, depending if I get MK7 to run on a Emulator (don't have any Handheld CCs) However, I wouldn't run MK8 because it's basically the same as MK8D. I would run with Skips (or Shortcuts), normal Item settings and normal CPU. I'll tell you if and when I actually do it.
If the load times vary between Wii consoles as well, Emulators actually would be mroe fair because I think everyone with a good PC got the same loading times there while you can't get a "better" Wii. Also, why not create a sub-category then like other games (SM64 as a example) did?
Maybe I should actually explain my idea a bit better, I already was a bit tired then.
Boss Rush: You beat all bosses, you don't need to play through the whole game to unlock them. I guess timing starts when you jump into the first timing and timing ends at the some place like the any% would (Bowser needs to be fought last).
There are harder versions of all bosses you can always fight against so a Boss Rush would make sense imo.
Here are all locations in case someone forgot them: In the Mushroom Kingdom there are harder refights of most "normal" bosses, the broodals are on the Dark Side, the mother (?) of these is on the Moon in the cave before the final and Bowser is on the Moon (even the harder version of him).
I think a Perspective Mode category would work as well.
Maybe also add a "all Minigames" misc. category with CPU difficulty as sub-categories.
I know that Basketball and Hockey doesn't make sense as categories because theyre count-down based but I think Sports Mix would work. I know it's heavily luck based what sport you get (because Dodgeball and Volleyball are way faster) but especially Dodgeball is already heavily luck based if the CPUs catch the ball, if they pass it etc.
After you clear a cup you got the chance to take hidden paths, you could add a "Hidden Finale"/"Star Road" option (the game tells you if it's the Hidden Finale/Star Road or not).
