Console runs are allowed, and to time it you just manually time out loading screens.
Can you set the dropdown for Run Obsoletion in the category list for New Game that says "Match all, any order"? Otherwise, because of how sr.c sometimes shuffles names around, you run into things like how the Trio category is currently; the same group running, but two different runs shown.
Yeah, I mean, I'm not good enough to do any run except maybe Brutus deathless, which makes the deathless requirement an extreme turn-off for me wanting to run the game, plus the fact that it's only a "possibility" that the run would be added to the boards.
I like playing the game and I want to speedrun it, but I'm not going to be good enough for multiple months to do what would be considered currently a valid run (and that's IF I spent all my free time practicing), and that sucks.
I get that the mods support deathless, but at some point it's about accessibility to the category and game. Someone new who picks up PoE, plays the game, wants to learn how to speedrun it, isn't necessarily going to be good enough to get through the whole game deathless. That stops progress towards learning a run almost instantly. If I feel like I can't actually even complete a category (no matter how safe I play), I'm not going to want to learn it. Most runs don't have this type of barrier; you can struggle through the run as much as you want, but at a base level you can start and finish the game and it will count for a run. I'm aware that this will most likely not change any minds on the mod team, but please realize that if you want people to interact within speedrun.com and do races, you should consider opening up the deathless rule to allow, at bare minimum, for non-intentional/non-skip/etc deaths. I've been wanting to get back to PoE running ever since my wrist has healed, but with these new rules I see no point in actually trying since I won't be good enough for multiple months to be able to complete a valid run.
(A similar game, Diablo 3, has no death restrictions that I can see.)
Sure. Zer0 is more forgiving than Gaige re: lategame deaths, and you can adapt the route to be as easy as you want it to be.
The current New Game Normal record video seems to not exist.
There should be one if you set your game to Borderlands 3 on Livesplit.
If you're going to post here asking for a new category, know that we value actual execution rather than just arbitrary asking. Specifically: if you do it and can get 1-2 other people to do it as well, we'll most likely add it.
Yeah, it's just a long run and I'm working my way through it.
If both of you do a run as proof of concept, we'll look at adding it.
We'll have to time out how much it saves, but my guess is the power of the Pipe Bomb will be too much and people will keep running on 1.0.
- Yes
- No
- Savequitting is allowed, deleting movie files to skip cutscenes isn't
The first one, sure. There has to be interest though, so someone needs to do a run. The second one, no. That would be pointless. Sal already oneshots everything.
For some reason, editing my reply ate it, so I'll just put another one here. The rules will be finalized no earlier than 9/20, and you're welcome to join the discord and participate in the discussions. There are a few preliminary rules up already, though.
I'd recommend joining the discord - we've found this glitch multiple times over and Funcannon has been doing testing on it on his stream. Good find, though.
