Before starting speedrunning, I was watching a series called SpeedGame, where 2 or more commentators will pick a speedrun or a TAS and comment over it, it was a great introductions to speedrunning in France and I believe many runners started speedruning after discovering this series, including me.
Following that I discovered this game on Gamejolt called " A contact Machine" and it had an In site leaderboard tracking your best combined times in all the levels, and in chapter by chapters. I played many hours, optimizing the game by myself and beating all the dev LB times. Then after a few days I finally tried doing a SS speedrun and voila, my first recorded speedrun, nearly 12 years old at this point.
