Full Campaign run is done: ILs: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1mbTLOJma7c0QXh-DB8PLDreGozKxOoS I'm still working to upload all of my ILs, but should be done relatively soon.

I'm assuming this community is pretty dead. I'm currently routing/running Tale of the Dragon. My strategies are pretty rough, but they get the job done. I'm going to be working to get some good ILs and get them uploaded. I recorded my first full campaign run, but a few of the levels didn't get recorded. Apparently if you open the options menu in the middle of a game, it doesn't close in the recording. So I have like an hour of footage of my mouse moving around the options menu presumably beating the game. Estimate for each level: 1 - 12 m 15 s 2 - 8 m 30 s 3 - 1 m 30 s 4 - 15 m (have to wait for the timer) 5 - 5 m (probably, lost the footage) 6 - 17 m 7 - 11 m 30 s 8 - 16 m 9 - 30 m There plenty of optimization left, so I'm going to go work on that. If there is anyone interested in this run, let me know. I would love someone else's input. I will post a playlist here when I finish all the levels. Cheers.

Me and w0kEbOi have been discussing this on discord. Since its the most significant find in a long while (credit to w0kEbOi). Figured I would post something. This strategy is still in its infancy, so if you have ideas to make it consistent throw down a post or say something on discord. Here's footage of the skip working, and the ways it doesn't work. edit: A completely different way to skip this cutscene has been found. It is really easy to do, but you need a controller. If you're interested I will be updating the glitches guide.

Nobody has ever really taken the time to determine rules for coop. I made one of the rules. I'm pretty proud of it. I'm the reason you can't run coop solo. Of course to get this rule change I had to submit a WR time and have it be rejected. The community is very inactive. So long as we are discussing coop rules. I think as long as 2 bros are present at some point in each level, the run should be valid. Even if the run was done with mostly 1 bro at all times, the faster times would use the second (or third and fourth) players to improve the chances of getting the right bro for each level (and presumably whoever gets the fastest character would play that level). I think that is interesting enough to warrant the coop category.

You are not alone, I also have this problem. I have yet to find a solution. This is why I run Low% right now. Out of curiosity, do you use a controller? I do not.

The cutscenes do go by faster when you hold the fire button, but it is these cutscenes that you can speed up that often are subject to lagging and being much slower. If you're curious watch 1:55 onward. This is the cutscene that it happens with the most/is most problematic. I should point out that in each example I am holding the fire button.

I was never sure if it was possible to boost off of grenades because they blow up so fast. Although if it is possible, I'll definitely look into it. I don't think I would try grinding runs with that strategy, but I will probably try to use it as an IL strategy for a segmented run I'm putting together. I just finished a run with my new boosting strategy today and I timed it at 4:59 w/o loads. I guess I should probably put together a demo for this strategy. Anyway, I'm done grinding Low% runs for now. If you still plan to go for WR, you're going to need my new strategies. If I remember your WR video correctly, you might want to take a look at my tutorials for Levels 1, 5, 7, and 8. Other than those I might have general consistency advice for other levels.

Big news regarding the fast kill. I found a better way. You can use the explosives that spawn just before the checkpoint to boost yourself. Which one spawns is random, but on my first attempt of the level it seems to be the propane tank most if not all the time. This one is the easiest to boost off of. The grey and red explosive barrels are quite a bit trickier to nail the timing. They grey barrels have a delayed explosion and you need to be at the right distance to not die and get a boost. The red barrels explode instantly so you need to already be standing the correct distance away. Anyways, this skip seems to be entirely skill-based now. I've been trying to improve WR for awhile now, but it won't stand much longer.

So I've been attempting to get WR in Low% for quite some time now, And I have, quite frankly, run up against a wall. If you have ever tried to run Low%, which few people ever have, you know that the fast kill on Stonebanks on the second last level is absolute bullshit. I have lost too many runs to this trick. For those who are not familiar, this trick involves running past Stonebanks' railcar before he drops several sawblades on your head and throwing grenades on the right side of the railcar. The grenade throw is very consistent, but getting past the railcar is the most aggravating thing. Naturally, I tried to find out more about this trick. I have tested this level in just about every possible way, which has involved some pretty crazy ideas. In the end, the best I can come up with is the trick is entirely random. No amount of jumping, rolling, walking backwards, screen resolution, lag, or even speedhacks were able to make this trick consistent. I've finally given up trying to figure it out on my own. I would really appreciate it if MirrorsMind or ShadowDraft could give me any information they have on this trick. Other than that, I am going to be making a video guide for Low% showcasing some faster strategies. If you know anything about this trick I would love to not have to claim the trick is 100% random.

Update: My run was rejected, which is a shame because I really just want to see Co-op optimized. I'm going to see what I can do about getting a Co-op partner. Unfortunately this game has no online support. If any teams who have run Co-op or want to run Co-op would like any help with going fast I am more than willing to show/teach you how to go fast. I have already put a lot of work into routing every character on every level. Please, if you are at all interested in running this game (any category), I want to help. I love this speedgame, love it with me.

Looking for opinions on whether Co-op runs done solo should be considered valid Co-op speedruns. Finished a test run today with an RTA of 7:28 which makes it an unofficial world record. I like the idea of someone frantically trying to control two Bros better than two people can, but in practice you can just bind most of the controls to the same buttons. So I have a few main questions I'd like some opinions on:

  1. Should Solo Co-op speedruns be valid Co-op speedruns?
  2. If so, should there be rules restricting the key binds?
  3. Should Solo Co-op be its own category?

Basically, if nobody has any objections, I'm going to start routing Solo Co-op and grinding runs. If nobody wants this though, I'll just keep it an unofficial category.

Has anyone else noticed the cutscenes playing slowly sometimes? Specifically, when you use the "Fire" button to speed up a cutscene, it can either play really fast or at seemingly normal speed? I have not been able to pinpoint the cause of this. Currently, the only fix I can find is restarting the game. This has definitely been a big killer of my runs. Anyways, thought I should document this and maybe get some discussion going.
