Linux through Wine is allowed for runs (and would not be counted as emulator), I'm not sure if it's necessarily recommended though as I've heard LiveSplit doesn't work in Wine? Would mean you can't time without loads which puts you at a small disadvantage.
Running the GameCube version on Wii is also completely allowed (my GC runs are on Wii :) ) and wouldn't be viewed as emulation. We mainly classify emulation as running the console version on PC through something like Dolphin.
Emulators are allowed but hidden by default. However, there isn't really a reason to use an emulator as it's pretty easy to find a PC copy, which lets you be seen on the boards and gives you access to stuff like the autosplitter and load remover. If you join the discord we can help you get a PC copy quickly :)
(if you do insist on using emulator I'm not really sure how to fix the stutters so apologies about that)
Nobody has ran this for a while so it could be considered dead, I've been meaning to come back at some point and try go for sub 5 though. There are no guides that I know of, I just played through the game a lot and watched top runs. Good luck if you do plan on running this :)
The ability to view leaderboards on specific dates doesn't seem to work anymore, it just displays the current leaderboards no matter what.
Join the SHAR Discord, we can help you find a copy that works with the autosplitter :)
Currently every few hours the site logs me out and forces me to log back in. Logging back in requires email 2FA, and half the time this e-mail doesn't even send, forcing me to keep on trying until an e-mail actually does send (and even then sometimes it says the code is invalid).
We allow webcam recordings for runs as long as it’s somewhat watchable, if you want you can send a sample recording and we can determine if it’s fine.
Alternatively you can join the discord for help on this or finding a PC copy if your computer would be able to run that :)
Not sure if this is how it works, but I'd like https://www.speedrun.com/shar_dm to be listed as a modification of https://www.speedrun.com/shar if possible :) . If needed can get @Nostalgia64 to confirm as he is a mod in both.
So I was copying a ruleset from the main boards to a category extensions, and it ended up like this on the extensions: https://imgur.com/rJAlAJN
On the main boards before I made this change it was formatted properly with spaces between the lines, and I copied the text exactly. The formatting on the main boards also changed to this when I saved the category rules without changing them at all, despite working fine before.
what do NotLikeThis
I'd be willing to run 100% if it actually worked for me (Losing Focus and anything related to it don't work) :) would be nice to see it become a thing if a solution is found for that
122-150 is faster by a decent amount at all levels unless you go for the dumb 60 fps strats nobody wants to do like bridge clip and armored truck instakill (plus I feel like switching fps as you get better will just force you to readjust everything and mess you up)
Test to see what the highest FPS you can consistently run on (while recording) and use that, I don't know how much that will be for you but I'd gradually go up in the range of 80-144 and see what works best.
Backwards compatibility is allowed on the boards, we don’t really have a real reason to ban it. I believe a couple of the pre-existing console runs already use backwards compatible consoles (I think Purple and Tedious ran on XBOX 360?)
Not sure if this is known yet, but just in case, since it still appears to be an issue: will there be a fix for obsolete runs done on the same day appearing out of order on profiles? Example: https://imgur.com/a/7JDagkw
Not a huge issue or anything, just a minor thing that looks a bit messy :)
https://www.speedrun.com/shar_ex This is for additional categories such as NG+/NMW variants of existing categories, Timeskip categories, scrapbook categories (like All Cards, All Wasps, All Gags) and Cheat%.
It depends on your coin route, but I'd say a general guide for the end of each level if you want to be safe:
Homer 1: 300-350 Bart 1: 750-900 Lisa: 600-700 Marge: 650-800 Apu: 550-600 Bart 2: 375-450+
