Like I said, this is probably a twitch problem.

This is most likely a Twitch problem.

I take a weird approach when sick and try to avoid things I enjoy. This is especially so when I get really sick.

My mind likes to run with things and when I’m really sick, I associate things with feeling that sick. So if I do things I normally enjoy while feeling like that, doing them again well after I’m over the sickness makes me feel worse because I’m associating it with that.

So, my lame ass way of getting over sicknesses is to just sleep and not do much of anything ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The lowest Joden got with iQue was 18:07 I believe. I can’t remember off the top of my head anyone lower than that.
As long as the game's rules doesn't state that the emulator is banned
I’m not a fan of this approach. Emulators can sometimes be kind of obscure and for smaller communities they may not even be aware a certain emulator exists. I’m in favor of always double checking with the mods if they don’t specify a specific emulator/version to use. The emulator in question may be new and untested (not saying Gens is, just an example) so the mods or community might but have had time to verify it’s accuracy. That’s why I like double checking first.

You’ll need to check the rules of the games you want to run. Or if it’s not in the rules you’ll need to ask the mods of the games.

Exactly that ^

However I will say that unless the game just doesn’t care about accuracy, VBA is almost always banned. It’s a very inaccurate emulator so most communities don’t allow it.

English and Japanese are functionally the same except for text so English can do all glitches JP can do across 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2.

That being said, I highly recommend against using English for runs. The text is incredibly slow compared to JP and it really won’t let you get competitive times at all. I also wouldn’t recommend WiiU VC as it has some nasty input lag on it. Wii VC is a better option and is what most people use.

If you want resources on homebrewing a Wii, I’d recommend joining the discord as that’s a better place to see resources than here.

I’m not really sure reviving a 2 year old thread started by a user who hasn’t logged on in 2 years was a good idea.

If the game requires a timer in screen, there is unfortunately no way to add one after the fact without sitting through the whole run and basically recording a playback of the run with the timer overlaid.

There are specific rules for each game/category. Some games dont allow dying and continuing depending on the category, others are fine with it.

I’d wager that most games are fine with death warps to save time and would definitely be fine with it if it didn’t save time.

As an example, Zelda 1 and I think ALTTP treat it this way - dying to save time in overworld travel is not allowed, but dying unintentionally when it doesn’t save time is fine. But it ultimately comes up to the discretion of the mods for the game.

You can run whatever you want regardless of a category being setup. If you want a category added, like the Solo one you mentioned, do a run of it and then ask the mods of the game for the category to be added (having a run helps your case).

As you get more accustomed to the site, it’s good to know that the mods of the game’s control everything about the game. So any questions or questions about a game can be directed to them. Good luck on your runs.

PJ1.6 and 1.7 are common to allow, anything over 2.0 is banned (usually). But, like Yoni said, it’s game by game and they’ll usually specify in the rules if it’s allowed.

ZFG isn’t a good example imo. He’s an incredible player, but he rarely holds more than one OOT record at a time (although he’s a lock for 100%). While he’s dominant and has the skill to get WR in a lot of categories, there are equally dominant players in the other categories (Marco, Bono, etc).

I think the Zelda games are tough for this because they often have a lot of variety in categories making it hard for one person to dominate them all. But, you could argue Ennopp/Trev for MM and Adam for TP as some examples of mostly dominate players.

That being said, KH1 has a few dominant players. Mist and Zetris are pretty dominant across the various versions and their categories. Ninten is one for KH2. LiquidWifi is one for Simpsons Hit and Run. Those are a few good friends of mine who pop into my head for this topic.

Not entirely no (at least not to my knowledge).

Unless it’s been changed recently, Flash Games can still be accepted but they are held to much higher scrutiny than other games due to their often short play time and similar play structure.

^ exactly that.

As a side note - Technically anything that uses RTA timing (single segment or otherwise) doesn’t have to be done in one sitting. It simply means don’t pause or stop the timer unless the run is over or you’re resetting. For stupid long runs (cough cough Baten Kaitos 100%), it’s not possible to do it one sitting. However, they still use RTA timing because they don’t stop the timer while they sleep. Animal Crossing 100% did this too back when the run was like 70 hours.

I mean, if your controller isn’t working what more can anyone do? Have you tried a different controller?

If your button is working normally with other games then check the mappings in your emu to make sure the B button is mapped like you expect it to be.

I’d wager a problem with Twitch or a problem with your phone. That’s is an older phone and an older iOS version and something that old can be prone to weird issues as sites push out updates.
