You don't need the password though you can sneak in through the side with momo
I'm actually not totally sure of the part you're talking about. I don't remember any passwords being involved with my run. If you could record the timesave for me, my discord is ZeldaBlade#6911 so you can reach me whenever. I'll most likely join the discord later today
in theory buying new armors to raise attack would save time in the long run, but it'd be something that'd have to be routed out. I'm more concerned about major timesaves in the minutes range, so if I find something that helps out enough I'll probably implement them into runs
I'm salty and want competition I'm lonely please
Correction, the momo strat doesn't work after having tested it. quite sad about this. could've saved a loooot of time over the whole run.
A few improvements to be had here:
-you don't need to talk to the lady before buying the wick. I like to buy it on the way to get the fisherman's oil and clues about Hiryu.
-you could save a lot of time by getting the fisherman's oil first, and then sending out momo to get the gear and pouch while aang is by the village. I don't know for sure if this would work or not but it would save a lot of time.
I just did a run of the game now and I'll be submitting it once it processes on youtube, so if you want to see my route in action you can watch that, though the quality is a bit low. I don't use the momo strat as I only thought of it in the middle of that run after I'd already passed it :/
I ran the game once, but sadly didn't record it due to having no way to do so. All I have to work with is a cell phone and a pc with no capture card. I think my best bet to record may be a youtube livestream or something if thats possible. Point being, I'm going to try to record a run soon, to maybe kick off the leaderboard finally. I think 2+ years of waiting is long enough. My time was 2:29:46 btw (run on gamecube)
I use an original GC controller as well as the GC controller adapter that Nintendo released for smash 4. Its kinda pricy, but I had both handy since I play the game competitively. It's worked very well for me so far. There's many drivers you can install to let the adapter work on your pc, so just hit up youtube and pick your favourite ^~^
I just run with a gamecube controller on pj64 on pc, since pausing when i play on homebrew takes like 5 seconds each time until im actually in the pause screen, and the gake itself is super laggy sometimes. That might just be an issue i have though
I looked a tiny bit into Star Road runs, but I wasnt able to find a 20 star route, and being a 16 star runner of SM64, I decided to create a similar run for this game. When it was finished, I looked for a way to spread it just to find there was already a route in existence. I understand this probably won't be taken too far nor serious, but I figured I would throw mine out anyway, right?
20 STAR ROUTE
BOB-OMB ISLANDS: -Big bob-ombs sky fort (open cannon and collect star) -Top of the sunken ship -In the side of the mountain -Deep dive in the cage -Smash the chain chomps rocks
SKY LAND RESORT: -The new whomp king -Climb the windmill -The flying stepping stones -Finding the purple switch
CHUCKYA HARBOR: -The other entrance -The underwater maze -Break into the building
GLOOMY GARDEN: -Big boos tower -Top of the risky walkway -The secret tunnel Vanish cap (no star)
-Mips star
PIRANHA PLANT POND: -The flooded cave (open cannon and collect star) -Shoot to the tower top -Climb the ruins
-Toad star
-Bowsers slippery swamp
-Retro remix castle
-Bowsers rainbow rumble
Time: When Mario jumps into the star left by bowser.
There are many fixes that could be made with this, as I've seen after watching an existing 20 star run, mind you I dont like the idea of time after beating bowsers slippery swamp.
Either way, I suppose don't fix what isn't broken, yeah? Thanks for reading, and maybe this could become a new thing.
