Hey, great run! Although I believe you've timed it a second more than you actually got. You got a 6:52 but you put it as a 6:53 :D
Using save states on the PS2, I saw that the toss is the same while using a save state. I don't know what math the game does for deciding the toss outcome but I tried using a save state while running Test Match on the PCSX2 emulator and I got Scotland to choose batting every time I reloaded the state.
Gonna try and find out where exactly the game decides the toss. My guess is it decides the toss immediately after choosing match conditions on the screen where it shows you the pitch types and weather, but I'll check it out once.
Also, would save states be allowed in such a case in a speedrun? I'd say go for it tbh because it is kinda annoying to get bad tosses each time you start.
Thanks! Yeah it's definitely harder to bowl on the PS2. Although I still think hitting a six might be better than a single, though I'm not sure too haha Probably gonna try this out a bit more maybe :D
@Mind_of_Ryan you could also use Medium pacers to swing the ball from the extreme ends of the pitch into the stumps. Just have to aim a bit shorter and bowl it. EDIT: Also noticed, I think the time would be wrong as it should be started when hitting Continue on ur first match and not the Done button on the lineup selector :D
@Mind_of_Ryan alright, I'll keep that in mind next time :D
Great run haha. Put full swing on your balls with pace bowlers when bowling on the feet. That'll help you get more wickets. Think it can be reduced to 35-36 mins ish with some luck
haha @Mind_of_Ryan yeah, idk why or how the batsman popping happens. I did notice the last time I had it on a different PC the batters were going to the side. This time they go to the straight boundary. But yeah could get so much lower lol
Woah. Congrats on the WR man! Exhibition might be one of the hardest to get WR in now lol :D
Great run man! Congrats! How did you get the Cricket 07 PS2 files?
Thanks @Mind_of_Ryan :D Also, there's glitches with some scenarios from Test 3 onwards where the overs aren't calculated correctly. You can take advantage of them too. Is it a similar glitch with you?
All good man, look forward to attempting the Ashes Scenarios :D Cheers!
Yea exactly what I thought too. It should be allowed I guess, as there is quite no way to avoid it to be honest.
I'm getting this weird glitch on a lot of my runs and even playing normally. This is the first time I got it on recordings but I've been getting this for the last 2 months. Should a run with this be allowed?
It's basically a bowling glitch where the batsman just goes superspeed to the boundary if a ball is slow enough when spin bowling. Have a look:
yea agreed. need a category for it.
The umpire is based on Steve Bucknor lmao. Great run mate!
S Warren is Shane Warne. Just for the World XI teams in the games. They couldn't use real player names. Great run!

You can know if you've won the toss or not. Pressing S on the first possible frame after loading into the match shows you if you have lost the toss. The toss screen appears with the choice made by the other team. If the lost toss screen does not appear, you have won the toss. You will get to choose Bat or Bowl in normal time.

When playing with Australia, take Warne and McGill against teams with more Left Handed Batsmen (mostly Sri Lanka). You can bowl similar balls as you would do with the pacers against them. Bowl it in the legs and spin it towards the stumps. They get bowled just like with pacers. Works better on Normal pitches than Dry and Dusty ones but still works the same way although with a lower success rate.
I'll add more as I find them!
EDIT: Oh yeah and also LiveSplit now works with Global Hotkeys on for Cricket 07
I'm gonna try doing it live. Can we get a category for the full run (separately for England and Australia)?
