I have my backup of this game injected on my 3DS, it still runs off the same base as the normal game would (I think), but it might load a little faster due to digital storage instead of physical (I never tested this), would I be allowed to use that to play this game?
Emulated runs are currently allowed in a game I moderate, however this leads to it being really easy to TAS. I was thinking that to counteract this, we require something like gamepad viewer ( https://gamepadviewer.com/ ), which without a lot of extra effort wouldn't track inputs from a TAS on an emulator (I don't think). Was wondering if this would be a good idea to require emulated runs to do (with a guide made in order to show them how to do it) and just wanted a quick yes or no. Made a strawpoll to collect the answers, so if yall wouldn't mind a quick yes or no it'd be appreciated.
Make ILs appear in chronological order in the same way that full-game categories do on your profile.
Only even realized this was a problem because I've been running Mario Kart Fusion (which is primarily ILs) and because ILs are currently sorted alphabetically, it appears at the bottom of my ILs.
A bunch of my IL runs in Mario Kart Fusion just randomly won't show up. They display on the preview, but when you click on the leaderboard for the level, it doesn't appear. Anyone know why this is or how to fix it? (To be clear these aren't NEW submissions, they're runs that have been on the board for almost a month)
Affected Levels: GBA Bowser Castle 2 GBA Luigi Circuit GBA Sunset Wilds GBA Snow Land GCN Luigi Circuit GCN Baby Park GCN Dry Dry Desert GCN Mushroom Bridge GCN Wario Colosseum GCN Bowser's Castle GCN Rainbow Road DS Figure-8 Circuit DS Cheep Cheep Beach DS Luigi's Mansion DS DK Pass Wario's Cosmic Construction Orbital Outpost Luigi's Speedway
If you want to run some ILs in this game in another mario kart hack (this is recommended if you have a small SD card and don't want to only have 1 CT installed at a time), follow this guide made by Mango Man: https://www.speedrun.com/mkfusion/guide/s30rt
Please note: this isn't recommended for SPD tracks since they have a bonus speed modifier when playing in MKFusion. Also, just because another hack has a version of a track doesn't mean you're allowed to use that. Mario Kart Fusion often times will user either older/newer versions of tracks in comparison to CTGP which allow for different cuts, so replacing that track with the one from Riivolution is a requirement.
This is clean af. Whoever fixed the previously super clunky design for viewing ILs, thank you, this looks amazing. Is there a reason that full-game categories aren't viewed in the same way though?
By submitting real time, you add an extra column that doesn't need to exist. It'd be much better to simply submit the time you achieve in in-game time so that the 'real time' category doesn't show up while viewing IL boards.
Would it be possible to have a subcategory of a subcategory? My plan is to have a subcategory for each release of a game (since some things were changed) and then a second subcategory for emu/not.
Alternatively if one platform would always just appear on top even if it had slower times (similar to min captures/items in other games) that would work too.
Thanks to @1 suggesting the addition of FLAP leaderboards, they've been added to ILs.
On this level [https://www.speedrun.com/mkfusion/Orbital_Outpost] both versions should show by default, but the v1.0 run I have doesn't show unless you re-select filter -> Version -> Any
Versions don't obsolete eachother, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Anyone have a clue as to how to fix this? It shows up properly on the level leaderboard preview (https://www.speedrun.com/mkfusion/individual_levels).
This thread is made to compile all removed courses from this game so you know what version you need to play to compete with them. It will be updated when more courses are removed. Removed after (insert version here) means that that was the last version they are known to be playable.

Instead of having subcategories for each version for each level, I'm changing it so only the levels which changed between versions of mkfusion. This might cause problems with runs already submitted, so be prepared to re-submit them if needed.
So I mod generally a lot of smaller-scale games to the point that any one discord for one game would be kind of inactive, so I was thinking of making one massive discord combining all the smaller games that I mod.
Is this a good idea? I don't think I've ever even heard of someone having this idea before.
The 3ds port was just added to src: https://www.speedrun.com/mario_64_3d
This might be useful for some people if they can't run on PC or want to run on the go.
The users page has been down for awhile now, is it ever coming back? It was a pretty neat feature of the site to see which players had run the most games/categories and which countries had x amount of players. Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, I'm not aware of the original.
We are very interesting on a Ninji category but are going to wait a little "If Nintendo adds any final Ninji-Related features to the game before we add it on the leaderboard". Expect the category soon.
