@Timmiluvs Capture cards are actually really cheap now. Downgraded my $140 elgato HD to a $40 mirabox and haven't noticed any differences. Here's a comparison I did:

The easiest way is just by using livesplits on your PC while having OBS open and then just using a 'Window Capture' source to capture it and record it live without any need for editting.

@KilleDragon I'm against adding this one in particular because WRs are something that changes over time. Something like Ninjis, Pacifist, Endless, Nuzlocke, etc. doesn't change once levels can't be uploaded, the random levels you find or set levels made by nintendo stay relatively the same after level uploading is stopped. Level WRs just get more and more optimized over time, and eventually the hot/new page will have some of the most contested level WRs of them all since the same levels will be immortalized there forever. Overall, this category, unlike others, would just get insanely more difficult over time making it borderline unfair for future runners. Furthermore, the endless speedruns are essentially the same if you were to take out the WR part of this run as the goal of going as fast as possible is still the same.

Also interesting that banned users get a free icon of their pfp next to their name, which I found out by checking out their profiles.

When you hover over the icon it doesn't say "original donator" like non-banned people.

@omnom143 it wouldn't have an official leaderboard, that isn't a game. Feel free to run it all you want and post it on forums though. I would say that maybe you could get this on some game as a meme category kinda like the IRL pringles category: https://www.speedrun.com/pringles#IRL , but this isn't really a run because most of the homebrew process is automated, there's not really a way to save time other than just having a wii with faster processing.

For unofficial VC injects, do I need to somehow get the BIOS for that too? I have this game injected on my 3ds and might run it eventually.

@survivalMichi Because it runs on a completely different physics engine with different mechanics, most people enjoy OG mario 64 physics to DS imo, but DS definitely has some crazy stuff going on, just seems way too complex for me instead of the simple 16 star BLJ route. Also, the 3DS port is optimized for the 3DS and runs smooth.

True gamers play minecraft for 3ds where the little knob is used to look around.

@LilBroski1 the randomness isn't an issue, the issue is that this category becomes a problem once the stuff like smm1 happens and they stop letting you upload levels. At that point, the WRs for each uploaded level would be far more optimized than a random new level, effectively making this category impossible at that point.

Well on the other hand it would help people into some smaller games possibly find other ones, idk, there's a reason I was asking lol
