I feel like no one will be able to answer your question quite yet but I could be wrong. I think the game is being optimized for consoles first so the versions should be pretty similar then. There is a chance some loading zones could still be faster on PC though depending on how they program it. The reason why everyone runs PC is because the toybox / toybox + is downloadable only through Steam. This is just my speculation though so take it with a grain of salt.

Xbox is also similar to PAL in that there are a lot of glitches that are patched. Some clockwork warps are frame perfect or in some cases impossible, as well as a few other things like Pawno jiggy skip which is also patched on PAL/ Xbox I think. That being said, DCW still works on Xbox but you either have to use the gondola method or you simulate the reset on n64 by dashboarding to Xbox home. Xbox is a fun version to run but don't really expect to get WR with it, especially in 100% where it's probably the slowest.

The rules aren't currently set in stone really. The community as a whole just cares that you try to run an accurate emulator and that you don't tamper with loads or other behaviors. Also generally, we also don't want the emulation to be faster or even on par with the console speed since it disincentives running on official hardware. You should be fine running the game with PJ64 or any other pretty accurate emulator. It'll be obvious to you and to us if your emulation is inaccurate or faster so just try to avoid going down that road.

You can, however the cauldron RBA method that you'd have to use is both slower than PAL RBA, and pretty hard to perform on n64 console. Plus the route would have to be modified based on level order and you might have to do the note door skips again to get back to CCW after you hit the CCW puzzle switch and supposedly reset. The reset and getting back to CCW probably would lose 1-2 minutes if you don't mess the skips up the 2nd time and then you'd have to do BGS, GV, RBB after cauldron RBA, in that order. Then you'd just fly to the red cave with the mumbo token that leads to the CCW lobby and just go straight to Furnace Fun. That's how I'd envision an NTSC-U / NTSC-J any% run working anyways. You'd have to fly a bit out of bounds in the BGS lobby as well in order to fly into the loading zone and avoid being stopped by mumbo in mid air which could either detransform you and kill the run or freeze you in place and make you void out if you happen to be out of bounds. A lot to take in but think about these differences and maybe consider if the differences and time losses are worth putting up with. As much as an NTSC any% run is kind of interesting, the similarities to PAL any% make it's worth questionable. I hope you found this helpful and good luck!

Yeah, I tried messing around with that option but it didn't do anything. I don't know if it's just disabled now or what.

So is it now impossible to show multiple platform pbs on the site? I tried messing around with the options and the only thing that can be manipulated is to have different region times appear on the leaderboard at the same time. Before you could have your old pb from one platform on there and then have a new better pb on a different platform and it would keep both on the same leaderboard but would just give the old pb a dash mark instead of a ranking which was good. Apparently that's not a thing anymore and the dash mark only appears for region pbs instead of platform. In my opinion, it should go back to the way it was...unless I'm missing something and I can actually edit this somewhere.

Composite to HDMI converters do exist. Maybe look into one of those if you want.

This game is currently not on Wii VC or even Wii U VC for that matter. It may appear on it one day if Microsoft allows it but as of now, we allow runners to play on the Xbox Live Arcade version whether it's running off of Xbox 360 or Xbox One, the N64 version on console obviously, or via ROM on PJ64, EmuHawk, or Everdrive. Note that your run may be considered invalid if you tamper with the emulator's plugins too much and have a high level time like sub 2:20. We just encourage that you run on console but emus are allowed and different Banjo mods will have differing opinions on the matter but I think that sub 2:20 times on emu shouldn't be allowed. But emus are often a great way to learn and practice in the game so if that's your only option, then totally go with emu. Once you get to a certain level though, we tend to discourage it and ask you to move to console though I think.
