If I can find another game that I am able to speedrun competently, sure lol.

I'm not sure why it says 6 runs; to my knowledge, I've only done two, so maybe the others have been hidden?

The main reason why Batman/Nightwing are faster is because of one move: Spinning Fury. It can KO multiple enemies at once, in a single hit, in any area, excluding ringleaders (the enemies with red healthbars).

Batman and Nightwing also take less cycles on average to defeat enemies/bosses. They don't attack as fast, sure, but they do so much more damage per hit, with bigger hitboxes, that batgirl and robin just can't compete. It sucks because they average higher combo strings and thus can level up faster.

Lmao let me tell you right now, there isn't a single reason to use Robin/Batgirl for speedrunning. They just can't take out thugs as quickly, at least not currently in the meta.

The differences between Batman and Nightwing are so slight, it's probably not even worth differentiating them in categories either. Nightwings basic attacks are faster, Batman's grabs are faster, that's about it.

Alright, another new discovery today.

Now normally, when it comes to rolls Batgirl/Robin get the short end of the stick, but they have tech that is EXCLUSIVE to them. You can cancel their rolls with a punch or kick, and if you input them closer to at the same time, staggered just a little bit, roll-punch, roll-punch, you can start Z O O M I N G around. In case you're wondering, Batman/Nightwing's cancel comes out too slow to make this tech worthwhile for them; better to just mash the roll button in their cases.

Not sure about the viability of this little trick, but hopefully this is just the beginning.

Insanity Ward, the final room with 3 Red Claw enemies... if you blow up the barrels too quickly, they'll never spawn. Brutal. Especially since I had the same soft-lock happen to me before and I didn't remember it during the run haha.

First run I try to record, the game SOFT LOCKED. Enemies wouldn't spawn, game over man.

Today I discovered:

Clayface has a spinning attack that I have never seen before in my 17 years of playing the game, haha. You have to get CLOSER to him than the proximity that triggers his chest attack.

Bane can be attacked during the stalactite phase, he will then go right back into attacking you before the rocks have finished falling.

I know, right? It sounded like most journos couldn’t even finish, haha.

Right now my Robin is a good 10 minutes behind my Batman; you just can’t beat his ability to kill multiple enemies with a charged attack, sadly. Robin/Batgirl might need their own category unless something drastic happens.

Hats off to P1ZZAC4T, who finally put this misunderstood game on the board in the speedrunning scene. I've actually felt inspired to try my hand at it myself, having played the game regularly since launch, and I'm more than happy to share my discoveries with you, assuming you didn't already know this stuff.

I've posted some articles already, with plans to make more. I'm in the process of optimizing my run; let's try to go for sub 2 hours!
