From now on, all runs submitted must only show evidence of level loading for the first level.
Previously the rule was that the run needed to show evidence of returning to main menu after the run. This has been scrapped and only needs to be done if you want to submit a leaderboard Top 3 Time.
Also the rule was previously that you must load section and full game runs from the main menu, this has also been scrapped and now only needs to have the first level of the run be shown loading via R key or main menu.
The reason for changing these rules is that many players would simply forget to do so or would not read the rules correctly.
Im sorry to anyone who has lost times or recently submitted runs to these rules but I am happy to revalidate them should you resubmit them.
It's really situational, and I'm still uncertain of the BEST ways to gain speed. Best advice I can give is that personally I try every combination of different swings to find faster routing, and then apply whatever gets me the fastest times. But small swings tend to be better for quick angle changes, and large swings are great for building lots of speed from a swing point. Like how in level 5 we swing round the back and use one large swing on the chains on the wall to build a lot of upwards momentum, and how in level 2 you can use little swings to carefully manoeuvre through the trees.
If anyone needs help with reducing their times, practicing routes, etc. please put your query in here and me or others will help.
We have a discord but it isn't one just for the game, its for the game dev Barji, and theres a channel in there for the game. Join the server by this link and use the speedrunning discussion channel: https://discord.gg/a6TnyKtbkb
