there's no need for over 50 categories when there's less than 10 runs lol. the rules are also very vague. this page could use some TLC

I don't have a copy of it, and unfortunately there's no way to nicely recover it because it used a lot of google docs features, which have been changed and are no longer supported. I was talking with Mageikk about this a couple days ago, and I'm pretty sure that twitch chat integration isn't gamebreaking, but we haven't fully made a decision on it yet because there's a few concerns with accessibility and some other things. I'm sure a separate Twitch category could be added until we decide if we want to combine the categories.

There's all sorts of categories you can make for rogue legacy, and really all games in general. Some of those ideas, like 5000 coins already have similar categories (lvl 20 is like 4100 coins iirc). The single bosses are really short and boring runs that pretty much all come down to RNG (except herodotus), and while some categories that are currently not on the leaderboard are good, they often lack interest to warrant having a leaderboard anyways. Zors has done tons of runs like zero death, tanooki%, etc., which are not on the leaderboards simply because he's the only one running them. I greatly encourage you to try out new categories for fun, practice, or racing on speedrunslive, but just because a category can exist, doesn't mean it needs to be on the leaderboard (yet). People often browse speedrun.com when they are exploring new games they don't know much about, so having the leaderboard contain the runs that are the most entertaining is the best way to showcase the game. Accessibility and many other factors all play a part in deciding what should be on the leaderboards. If a category you suggested, like complete NG+2 from a blank save, became more popular, I'm sure we could add it, but at the moment I don't think it's necessary and it's best to keep it how it is now.

iirc, no architect no invincibility runs are very fun. I'd leave it up as a category that is a bit more creative and involves more skilled play in some ways.

I don't know much about the invincibility glitch, so if it kind of ruins the no architect runs then maybe I'd suggest taking the "no architect" down and leave "no architect no invincibility"... But if the run is still interesting then I'd say just leave both

I like the Misc. dropdown too. The category organization seems good to me.

I wish there were a NG+ category in misc. where people blow through the game one shotting bosses with a hokage or paper mario dragon to get an incredibly low time, since NG+ runs on youtube have gotten tons and tons of views even when they are very slow and not interesting. It would need a short description probably, to describe that it's a saved-game run and not a "defeat NG+ fountain" run. BUT, we don't really have any runs of this at the moment, at least I don't think, so maybe that should wait until someone has one to submit. I have plans to eventually do one some day, but it may still not be for a long while.

tl;dr keep no architect, and leaderboards look good

oh wow ok. i'm watching some of these videos now and i'm starting to see how you could save that much time. i never tried things like rob-bls or driving over grass on figure 8 circuit, or boosting and jumping over huge gaps in a 90 degree turn.

hey i have some extremely good time trial times from when i used to play this game a lot, and i was wondering how good they really are.

i saw someone link this site: http://www.cyberscore.me.uk/game/228 but the times on this site are quite literally impossible. i know how to snake perfectly and my times just cant be beaten by 15 seconds like this website claims. are these not time trial times? where can i find the current WR's for time trials?

or is there some new technique that i'm not aware of?

Actually, even though I've been pretty sure of this up until now, I'm having second thoughts about this timing after finding out that you can quit to menu after the last hit on the fountain, and that will let you start new game+. Leave it as it is for now until I think about it some more. Feel free to send any of your thoughts on this topic my way

Rules should be updated to have time end when you go in the door after killing the fountain.

The goal is any%, not defeat the fountain. The game is not over and the credits do not roll until you go in the door.
