I have made a discord server for Mad Max (2015) Speedrunning :) Main purpose of this is to help new runners learn the game and to create a hub for various strats and glitches (which I have already found in my short time playing so far that save close to two minutes). Hey anyone that has ran this game before! I am currently learning the Any% NG (Current Patch) run (up to Immortal Enemy so far). While I am generally good with the challenges up to this point, I was wondering if any of the former runners had a google doc or sheet with any of the recommended challenges to get and backup challenges to get (especially if you don't get things like wanderer and some of the combat challenges). I know PenAgain has a guide on this but it is pretty outdated.
what emoad said just isn't true... opponents isnt really that good of a category because it is just btc but playing a lower rated opponent.
EmoadNomad had an asnb run in June that he submitted where the ball was bouncing out of the hole on hole 3 and he paused and quit out mid bounce. This led to community discussion and a community vote on what to do in the discord server. 2 Votes were held. One asked when to allow quitting in golf and one asked when to end timing for normal golf runs such as 9 hole.
From now on, runners must wait for the "Chip-in" text to appear if it is a chip in to quit out of golf. With putts, it's still the standard disappearing in hole timing. Current runs with chip ins when they exit will have a 4s penalty added on to their final time to compensate for the new rule.
Additionally, formal timing for normal golf runs now end on when the ball LAST disappears. The previous rule was when it FIRST disappears.
These two rule changes were both decided over a community vote where the overwhelming majority voted for these two options. The rules have already been changed on the leaderboards to reflect the new rules. Please be patient if you are currently submitting runs (30+ unverified runs waiting right now) as the mods are going through the WHOLE leaderboard, including category extensions, to retime runs.
Please ask any questions about these new rules if you have them.
Two categories have been made on the CE page, labeled appropriately as "Lose All Sports" and "Lose All Sports +" for clarity reasons. You can now submit from the CE page :)
Before any category is added, there must be a run of the category. You can post in discord or just dm here on this website.
I don't run a dictatorship so I wanna hear the community before making any decisions
What makes this not sound like a fun category in my opinion is that it relies HEAVILY on the CPU getting a mercy rule on baseball which is just pure RNG, even more than All Sports + has. Another question that I'm interested in hearing from the interested runners: Does the mii you use have to be a fresh mii? Or can it be an All Pro mii?
Additionally, we try to promote using original hardware and original discs to uphold the community's integrity.
USB loaders have been shown to have faster load times than playing on disc as shown in this video: . In a short run like All Sports, it may not seem like faster load times but it is still an advantage. I've seen a lot of runners using USB loaders lately and I'm trying to talk to the other mods to come up with a more fair and representative system. I'll update when that happens.
My question would be on when to determine when the timer would end as well as what sport would be last (assuming golf though).
and as for clicking 9 Hole, that is not allowed either because the winds are different
you can't run this game on USB, load times are faster. If you do that your run will be rejected
idk how fun intentionally losing a bunch of games would be... be pretty much just you standing there (autoscroller)
Sometimes, people just need a break from a certain game, even top runners like Cheese need a break every once in a while.
