@Riekelt We want to preserve past marathons, so in this case, I'll make a new one for you.

Soon, I'll be making "teams" that can add new marathons without the need to request one from us.

Good news, Brits:

You can thank DanteDoes for convincing me that I was being kind of a dick about it.

Note however: when I add the counties of England, if you select those, you'll be represented by http://i.imgur.com/kj6hgG1.png on the leaderboards, so if you want to use http://i.imgur.com/9nBUDLP.png , you'd better not select your county.

Whoa guys, they're not hardcoded and I'm not giving anyone "special treatment". It reads them from the Twitchemotes API and gives Twitch partners their Twitch sub icons. It's been like that since the site opened 3½ years ago.

No big deal.

Those having separate entries had a lot to do with the fact that they have their own ISO 3166-2 codes.

The Olympics situation is also messy, as it's called "Team Great Britain", a name which excludes Northern Ireland. Then there's the added controversy of whether or not Northern Ireland is included in the Ireland team. Team GB also allows participants from Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, Gibraltar, and Falkland Islands, which are listed separately on this site.

Another thing to note is that Faroe Islands and Greenland are listed separately too, rather than under "Kingdom of Denmark".

What about sports teams though (football, rugby, etc)? You can't play for a "British" team, you have to pick one of the four.

Yeah, I changed it before I tweeted about Nintendo's Splatoon record. I'll eventually make it a dropdown to change IL.

Well, the four countries of the UK have a lot of special exceptions around the site. For example, on the leaderboards, the sub-country flag will show instead of the UK flag. I did this because a lot of Scots, for example, identify as more Scottish than British, and the indigenous Irish people in Northern Ireland (about half of the population) didn't want to be represented by the UK flag.

It also looked kind of silly having some people on the leaderboards with the UK flag, and some with, for example, the English flag. So I just finalised the split. This way I'll now be able to add regions for those four countries.

And yes, I do see the hilarity of this coming from an Irishman, but I have no beef against the UK as a country :P

This is gonna be pretty short because I'm not good at words.

The good ° The stream area. The amount of TVs made it really easy for everyone on the couch to watch. The huge projector made it easy for everyone in the entire hall to watch. The speakers were good quality and loud. ° The hosting / interview area, and the wallpaper behind it. ° The tech work. Everything was super smooth and tech was able to communicate with runners and hosts discreetly. ° The second stream. Really fun, and a good relaxed alternative to the main stream. Shoutouts to Liva for that. ° The flags. Shoutouts to zoton2 for getting them to work just right.

The bad ° The chat on the smaller projector was too small and hard to read (this is literally the worst thing I have to say about the entire event, so (Y) ). ° The big lamps were often blocking the screens for people on the couch / in the audience. ° In some cases, there was need for more than three headsets / microphones, maybe there could be four for when there's more interaction from the couch. ° More of a question, but why didn't the "crew" folks, who were emptying the bins around the venue, not do anything to clean the kitchen? The bins in there were never touched, and it would have been nice if putting all of the cups lying around into the dishwasher every few days was among their duties.

The ugly ° The lanyards were a little on the big size. For reference, I think this year's SGDQ badges were the perfect size. ° I didn't like the design of the T-shirts and wasn't even slightly tempted to buy one. The colour (grey) was nice, but the pig, a meme from ESA 2015, wasn't very attractive.

Anyway, absolutely loved the event overall.

Confirmed hardcoded! I'm planning to make them settable for every game.

Also sorry about the lack of activity lately, a few people have e-mailed some requests which I'll get to shortly :)
I changed the language to spanish but it still shows the american flag.
I think it's fixed now, can you confirm?
Is it possible to maintain the American flag as opposed to the British one, even if you're from Europe
Nah, I think it's pointless, it would be too much work, and even if I did, feature bloat.

To those offering to translate, it would really help me get in touch with you if you could join the site's Discord.

Also, to keep Americans and British happy, your own flag will show for English.

I may do the same for Portugal and Brazil once Portuguese is added, but I don't think people from Quebec and Hispanic America mind the French and Spanish flags, right?

We're working on a new system to let you browse the site in a number of different languages.

A lot of people offered to help out with translating, so we now have a team working on all these languages:

I've given donators early access to the feature. There's still a lot to be done, so there's no need to report missing words :)

If you can offer to translate any other languages, especially Chinese or Portuguese (European and Brazilian), please reply here and let us know why you'd be good at it.

Thanks folks! (Y)

@Mhmd_FVC I've added a button to allow users to close the box. That should hopefully make it much more tolerable.

@Tron_Javolta Good idea. I'll try to remember to do that this weekend.
