@Timmiluvs I thought about it too, but when you search for user "u" both in the site and in the API, you get the reference to the OP here with the dotted "u".

Click on the hourglass icon at the top (pending actions), then click on "view all". Then, you can edit your submission under "pending game requests".

Note that it will re-submit the game and will send it back to the queue, like it is a new game.

There is no way to do that inside the site itself. But you can do a google search in the form of "speedrun.com forums {subject}", and you might find similar results.

Not exactly true, there are a few cases when leaderboards do require a timer, for several reasons. But yes, if there is no need for it, then a timer should never be required.

I just came back to the game after a long-ish break.

Maybe the category rules explain what that is? They should do, anyway. If not, you should really ask in that game forums.

Game-related questions should be looked for or asked in the game forums, not here on the general forums. That also includes questions about autosplitters.

By the way, are you sure such thing exists? Quick search on the "Roblox: Speed Run 4" forums give this result: https://www.speedrun.com/robloxsr4/thread/nbbkg

Game specific questions like that you should ask in the game forums, not here. The community can help you much better there.

Maybe, maybe not. I would agree with you about that several months ago; but after some time around here, the more I get the approach of the mods. I still think this thread about GeoGuessr answers it the best: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/czj4g you can find all sorts of arguments there.

@Hogridergaming1 To delete your account you must also write your password again (exactly for extra protection against mistakes/accidents or against other people that might get on the account without logging out first). So, something doesn't seem right here.

There are a lot of threads on "The Site" forum with similar questions, you can look them up. The general response of the moderators/admins, is that they want to keep some level of quality control over the games here.

The short/trivial types of games are usually free games on the web - old Flash games, Unity or html5 games, games on Itch.io and some free games on Steam, to give some examples. Lots of the very short games are just very similar clones of each other, without any unique mechanic, concept or gameplay. There was also an "issue" of self-published games - everyone could develop a 20-second game in Flash, "speedrun" it and then submit it to the site.

Also, you should separate short games from short speedruns. SMB can be completed in 5 minutes, but that's because there are several warps involved that skip most of the game. The new Spongebob game has the Taxi-Glitch that can skip the entire game and spawn you right at the last level, making the runs around 2 minutes. Does that make them short/trivial games? No.

Taking a random runner who just posted his first run to the game and making him a moderator, is probably not a good idea.

Check out this thread (someone else complaining about Among Us rejection): https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/xva2m

2 points:

  • Among Us IS a pvp based game
  • Game request rules got stricter over time, but are not applied retroactively. So it won't help to give examples of other pvp games, as they were added to the site before the rule came in place.

I don't think you are on the right site. You mentioned TASvideos - The entire site is built around TASes, and is full of guides and tutorials. The site also have forums, the people there should know more about TASing than the general community here.

You need to ask this in the pac-man forums: https://www.speedrun.com/pac-man/forum The moderators and the community of the game should know much better on it than the general community in the main threads. (The moderators are those who handle the leaderboard, make the rules and verify the runs)

@DBcade I don't know if there is a limit or not, but one game can belong to multiple series. For example, "Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga" belongs both to the Lego series and Star Wars series. https://www.speedrun.com/lswtcs

All games and categories (should) have rules about the goals of the run, when the time starts and ends, and also what is and what is not allowed to do. If the game rules are not clear, or you are not sure if you can do something or not; then do as @Pear said and ask in the game forums, or contact the moderators directly.

For tips on how to speedrun certain games, check the forums or the guide sections in each game. Spelunky and Celeste are very popular so you will find a lot of guides for beginners or advanced players.
