Hi @Alaskancrabpuffscrab21, I do appreciate you bringing this information and suggestion to us. I did not know that the Atari Jaguar and Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration was out. After looking over it, I will go ahead and make a category for it. Any of the platforms that this game is out for will be acceptable and since in game time is used, loads times will not matter. Also, good luck on the runs.

UPDATE: After thinking it over some more I feel that a separate category for the Atari Jaguar and Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is not necessary and will be allowed as the board stands now. If any issues arise then adding a sperate category may be needed.

After doing some research it seems that for sfa3 at least that there is a need for a category for Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium as the defaults for this are different than arcade. I am also looking into SFA and SFA2 and if the same is found then categories for those will be added as well. thanks for your request and info @BOSSCAT :)

Just adding this here instead of making a new thread. As of 03/02/2023 Bizhawk 2.4.8_1 or higher is allowed for the Saturn emulator category. However, some type of emulator proof is needed. Such as, showing entire emu window, exiting and entering Fullscreen, etc.

Recently it was brought to my attention that there is an emulator out there that runs Jaguar games very well. After some testing we have decided to remove the ban on emulators but for now will be separating it from real hardware till more extensive testing is done. This emulator does show great promise and it is neat to finally see a decent Jaguar emulator. I will add a link to the emulator under resources and will be updating the rules as well.

After being informed about a few differences with the Capcom fighting Collection, there has been a category added for it. This is mainly due to there being a 0 difficulty which mainly affects the Any% run. The category is now live and the Wondersawn category has also been added as well.

Yes, just load the game up as usual. Go to options and change difficulty to level 16. Exit options and soft reset game. The AI should now be level 16. To confirm this you can go to options and see that the difficulty does saves with a soft reset and will be level 16. I would recommend showing this before run attempts to be on the safe side. No need to go to character select screen until after a soft reset.

On a side note, I would recommend doing this for Any% as well, because if not, your runs will be at a disadvantage with the Default difficulty and not that of 1. Also, rules have been updated to reflect these findings.

After doing more testing, I am convinced that this is the case with the SNES port. So, from here on out, all runs currently on the board will be grandfathered in the hardest category. The default category really doesn't matter as much. Any runs from now on that submit to the hardest difficulty for SNES must show the difficulty settings being shown and do a soft reset afterwards or to do a reset of the game and show settings confirming the difficulty has already been changed to 16 as the number will be the color of white. This applies to both hardware and emulation. Any runs that do not will be moved to the Default category as the AI is still on Default and not 16 (Hardest) even though it shows in the settings. The reset must happen for this to trigger the proper AI for that category. Further testing will be had on other platforms to validate if this is SNES only. Please feel free to share your findings with the community and if it turns out the same, then the same rules will apply to those platforms as well.

It was made aware to the mods that there could be a difference with how the AI is handled with the SNES version of the game. With most games, when you change the difficulty and exit option, the AI difficulty is set. However, there may be a possibility that this is not the case with Primal Rage SNES. It seems that with some quick testing done by me on Emulation and Real Hardware, I changed the difficulty either to 1 or 16 and started playing. The AI was the same as if it was on 10. When I powered off the game, went to options to change the diff to either 1 or 16, exited the options, and then rested the game the AI was in fact different. For 16, it was more aggressive and for 1 it blocked even less. I did try this on genesis and the AI did change by changing the difficulty. There could be other systems that may be like this or it is simply restricted to the SNES port. So, I feel there needs to be more testing done by others other than myself to make sure, but if indeed this is correct, then there will need to be a rule change for SNES requiring the system or emulator to be restarted after changing difficulty when doing a run for either Any% or Hardest. I am interested in knowing if this is indeed the case with this port. Help would be appreciated.

Hi @poitspark Sure we can add your suggested category. I'll go ahead and add the category now and inject the rules over to it. Looking forward to seeing it and good luck on the runs! :)

Thanks for the help and the information. I went ahead and added hard mode to the board. To anyone running this category, good luck and have fun!

Hi there, adding hard mode is no trouble at all. Especially, If there is a general interest from the community. However, I am unfamiliar with the differences that hard mode may present and if it would warrant its own category. Do you know what changes are made from normal mode to hard mode? Any info would be a great help.

Hi there, I have took the liberty to remove load times for the runs that are on the board. All runs starting now will be time without loads so to combine both Real Hardware and Emulation. With the addition of flash carts that now can play Sega CD games (including MISter FPGA), I feel that this is the best way to handle the many options available to play Sega CD games and to make fair to all who decide to run this game. Rules have also been updated as well.

Hi there,

For any runners of 30th Anniversary, the rules are updated for the "2/Default" category. It was brought to my attention that the defaults for sfa2 for 30th are a bit different than the arcades. The defaults for 30th for damage level seems to be level 3 not level 2. So, this will be changed, and I wanted to let the runners know this, as some runs are using damage level 2. So, now, level 3 or lower is allowed for 30th.

Sounds good I will wait a little longer before adding ya. I also told you wrong. Its not two step it is email verification. Make sure that is setup or I cannot add you as a mod.

Was thinking on adding maybe a new mod or two, and was wondering if anyone may be interested? Having experience with the game is a plus. Make sure to have two step verification enabled, and have connected at least one social media account where you can be contacted. Also, if you just want to verify runs, I can make you a verifier, which means you don’t have to worries about mod stuff. Let me now if you may be interested, and ill let y’all know in a few days or so.
