Is the Gravel Pit unrecorded my time? If it is I'll make that the next run I go for.

I've wondered if the PATWELL cheat does anything. It didn't feel like anything changed when I first tried it out, but I'm willing to give it another shot

To my knowledge, mostly the top runners use the original controller with a loose stick.

An update to what WR has been beaten (honestly should just take the time to add him to the leaderboard)

Mountain Quarry, Nashville, and Canyon Chasm (just not posted but did it live), were done by me,

Construction was just beaten by meauxdal.

4 down, 8 to go

Uh wasn't the Japanese runners best Kyoto a 61 and my run with the WR lap on Kyoto was a 61

Wisconsin, USAMyOhMyPancakes2 years ago

Yeah that's what Meauxdal theorized, I'm not convinced on it yet, mostly I think its because I want to get 1:00 the way I've been doing it

Ok I think I got everything updated, let me know if I missed anything

I don't think we need a skip version for the other versions that are only one lap?

Wisconsin, USAMyOhMyPancakes2 years ago

wonder if its the same thing where it tries to put you back on a part of the track, but it so happens that its a jump you get spawned back on

Wisconsin, USAMyOhMyPancakes2 years ago

Can you perform a skip on the Japanese version of Challenge round? What tracks are on there?

Wisconsin, USAMyOhMyPancakes2 years ago

Maybe its only on Las Vegas, with another track being right on top of the finish maybe the game glitches out where to put you

maybe but from the looks of it you dont move up you only go straight up

My thinking is actually detroit, you got that ramp right at the beginning, if its possible to get it there, possibly you can jump enough to get the game to count a lap then possibly either go out of bounds or go to the turn on the right

Wisconsin, USAMyOhMyPancakes2 years ago

just saw the video, did he find a strat for moving your placement in a race?

Sorry to go off topic but take a look the run with the big heads at the 1:15 mark

It feels weird I still havent experienced this yet, could just be that I immediately reset once I know it is not a good jump. Now the real questions will be, how replicable is it and can you be utilized to save time. My only theory where it could save time would be if there is a ramp near a finish line that we can get a moon jump, then somehow be able to move over to out of bounds and possibly get a lap to trigger, but again that's my only theory,

I feel if we did and another category, it will cause way more confusion than what's it worth.

With trying to understand everyone's points, this is a definition I have come up with "A skip is when a runner abuses the Out of Bounds Reset System, to cause a lap to be counted, and/or skipping 50% or more of the track." I think this is a fair way to describe the common way each of the big five are done, and if we were to look at Houston and Detroit, they would not be applied since they do not skip more than 50% of the track. I think why I don't think the Goldmine and Detroit "skips" are skips because they are getting reset at a reasonable area to where you landed, Detroit by the finish line, and Goldmine parallel to where the rider landed out of bounds. If they were to get reset by a large margin, say at the 5th turn on the track, then I would say that they are skips.

When we first made the skips category, is was to allow people to still play the tracks while not having to try and perform the necessary techniques to perform a skip. When Meauxdal decided to start playing this game, I feel he would have been uninterested, if to be competitive, he had to go for the skip.

My stance: First thing we need to do is redefine the skip definition on the site, as I made it in a rush and left it very vague. We could define it as "A skip is performed when the runner skips large portions of the track by using out of bounds to spawn somewhere else, jumping across portions of the track that was not intended, or to get the game to count a lap that was not intended." The quote can be changed if something isn't clear, but I feel this gives a good definition on what to look for. With this definition, it would make all the routes shown in this post to be consider skips. The other way we could define it would be "When the runner has the lap counted by landing out of bounds and getting reset behind the finish line to get another lap counted." This would go with most of the tracks but would make the three runs up top not skips. Personally I would lean towards the second definition, but both can easily be changed, and I'm open to seeing other angles.

This forum post will be used to discuss what is a skip and what courses as of right now have skips.

What we have now: Since the last time I made a forum post here (back in 2020), runners have found a way to exploit the checkpoint system and out of bounds reset system to get faster times. Since the exploit was found (Originally mentioned by Discord user Insomniac_rap) multiple tracks have been found to have ways to get a faster time. When it became apparent that a lot of tracks had these exploits, we decided to put a new category to acknowledge the faster times.

What is the debate about: The debate is around how do we define when a runner does a skip. At the moment we have a skip defined as "A "skip" is when the player abuses out of bounds to cause them to go further up the course, potentially getting a lap skip." Now this definition can easily be changed, but this definition has caused a problem with two tracks, Houston and Detroit.

Houston's "Skip": For Houston it was found that at the end of the track you can jump over to the finish line, then turn around after the finish line to finish a lap (video for example, right now in Non Skip ). It was then found you could jump all the way into out of bounds then get reset behind the finish to finish a lap (video in Skips ). This is where the debate lies, would either route be considered a skip or if we changed the definition, would that cause both of these to be changed.

Detroit "Skip": This one was found by very recently, it was found to be viable to hit the last jump and go straight towards the finish line, either hitting the side and bouncing up, or getting reset by hitting out of bounds (Video in skips ). The debate again lies in that is this considered a skip.

Feel free to put in your opinion at the bottom, once it feels like we have come to a consensus, I will like the post and make the changes as needed.

Hey Ghillie, most cheats are banned. The only one that is legal is the "Wheeeeeee" cheat, which turns uphill into downhill. Just watch out using that cheat as if you finish a downhill run, the game will save the time as if you did the run uphill. Just to let you know here, I did DM you on discord if you wanted any tips and tricks, but as I'm typing this I realize I can use the comment feature under the run

I moderate two other games, but I feel like I don't have the experience to be a good moderator for the game. I'm hoping to join, so that I can get some helpful experience.
