Would love to have something funny, where i can still bring something to the table, with own strats or something like that. Woudnt like to grind a game where all depends on the speed of hitting the buttons.
"funny" games I recommend are: https://speedrun.com/jcsha https://speedrun.com/pgs1 https://speedrun.com/kirbymeme https://speedrun.com/abskod You could probably find new strats in pgs1 or kirbymeme, and abskod isnt that optimized. jcsha is a mashing game though.
@GoosePlays20 Agreed 100%! I'll take it a step further, and say that I've never understood why minecraft editions have separate leaderboards in the first place. In my opinion, it would be in the community's best interest to merge these games together into one leaderboard, to boost active player count, keep runs and communities consolidated into one place, and altogether make things so much simpler for all us runners. An "edition" variable could be used to distinguish versions. All of these games have extremely similar runs and routes, with the set seed category world records always being within two minutes of each other across all three main editions. I also think that games like mcedu, mce, mc3ds would all benefit from the extra attention.
Here are my proposed changes: Combine mcje, mcbe, mclce, mcpe, mcpi, mcedu, and mc3ds into one leaderboard Combine mchv, mcc, and mc4k into one leaderboard Combine mcsm and mcsm2 into one game
If you submitted the run as a twitch past broadcast, that would be rejected because twitch past broadcasts aren't permanent videos.
Games that are made for speedrunning usually suck to speedrun. Adding mechanics that are only used to go faster, making everything go way too fast, and not patching glitches during development are all things I've seen used in "speedgames" These ruin a casual player's opinion of the game. The best speedrun games are usually ones that aren't supposed to be speedrun games. Mario 64, Celeste, and Minecraft were not developed to be fun speedgames, they were just supposed to be fun games to play. The best way to make your game good for speedrunning is to focus on just making a good game in general, and then maybe adding a few features such as an accurate in game timer, an easy way to reset your save, and level select.
Of course, there are a few exceptions to this, for example, roblox speedrun 4.
Maybe in your run description explain that it's not actually a hentai game. With a name like Slender Hentai Edition its probably going to get rejected on sight. I did some research too and there actually isn't anything wrong with the game.
Minecraft education edition is literally a game on the site https://www.speedrun.com/mcedu
Friendly reminder that Fast Kappa Speedrunning Discord Server exists, and you should join it. Even if you don't want to run the game, speedrun.com game request rules have an exception for already established communities. So every person who joins the server is helping get this game onto sr.c where it belongs.
