What you are doing (asking people for mod roles frequently, moderating games without running them, etc.) is called mod farming, and yes, it's a bad thing.
Moderators should be knowledgeable and active in whatever games they mod. If you don't run the game, you don't have the experience and knowledge if you haven't even run the game. Playing a game casually or watching runs or videos about runs also doesn't give you that knowledge. I've learned a lot of stuff about how the games I run works and have noticed minor things I never would have noticed just watching a run or playing casually. And if you don't run a game, there is no incentive to be active in that game's community, which is equally important to having game knowledge. If people can't reach or contact you about rules changes, questions, etc. then the leaderboard can end up in a bad position.
TL;DR yeah its a bad thing, dont do it you won't get banned but you can get blacklisted
Nobody is forcing you to use the site. If you don't want to do speedruns anymore that's fine. Good luck with whatever you pursue next.
Most games don't require having an on screen timer. Runs are manually retimed by moderators by checking the start and end frames of a video. RTA timing just means that the run is timed in real-time, instead of using an in game timer or time without loads.
The rules for super mario odyssey do not say anything about requiring an on screen timer, so I would submit the run.
I wish your son good luck with his future super mario odyssey speedruns!
You chose to stan a really weird guy. I found a pastebin he wrote addressing the situation which has this line in it:
This ban is most likely connected to a couple things:
- Threatening to dox Kirkq for ignoring my Call of Duty Request again. (unfair by far, and if you see my twitter, I have much more threats on people because of their actions.)
It sounds to me like MrRacingMonster is the cyberbully here. Not only did he admit to threatening a src admin, he admitted to frequently making threats like these AND WORSE.
Being on the list isn't a bad thing, I don't think about my post count when I make forum posts
But yeah, jackz said he wasn't gonna make these spammy posts and has sort of continued to do it. He's basically turned into floppypants 2

Elo said that they probably won't be bringing it back either, I'll see if I can find the thread
You can request platforms via the support hub: https://www.speedrun.com/knowledgebase/supporthub/request-platform
Famicom is on the site https://www.speedrun.com/games#platform=FDS
edit: im not a console expert apparently famicom is not fds for the 2DS you'll have to request the platform
read this thread https://www.speedrun.com/speedrunning/thread/6tgel
You can still do speedruns and enjoy them without recording and submitting them. If the video quality isn't too terrible, you can still submit laggy footage as well. If the footage is actually unwatchable, try installing a performance mod like sodium, and recording with lower quality settings.
Edit: I don't actually know which mods are banned or allowed, so make sure to read the rules, I'm not a minecraft expert
go to the leaderboard of whatever game you want to submit to, click the button that says "submit run" in the top right of the leaderboard, and then fill out the form with the information about your run. make sure to read the game rules first
Interesting. I've only ever seen times of 2.833-2.867 for the final level, but there are a lot of different frames you can jump on the final brick. I can't record in 60fps, so my times won't be accurate, but if you can find a way to get 2.7 for the last level that would be another minor timesave which would make a 46.0x realistic. Unfortunately you guys will need to test this, not me.
Recently a user who is occasionally active on these forums @Output was hacked on both his yt and his discord. It's likely that his src account might be hacked next. If you have a mutual server with output and you see any suspicious links, don't click them and instead have a moderator ban him and delete his message history. I'd also advise you not to click any links you see in forum posts made by output until everything gets solved.
Update: he has recovered his discord, so hopefully everything will be okay now. i recommended that he change all his passwords
