Yes, sorry about that, runs have been corrected. Keep in mind that you can enter the time without loads yourself when submitting a run. The time without loads is measured from when the screen goes black after clicking the play button, to the time when you lose battle control at the end of the mission.

Thanks for sharing that video. Now I definitely see your point about people disagreeing on what's a glitch and what's not.

Ok, I get what you're saying. But from my perspective there's no way I'd put time into playing something where I'd have to restart every time I'd miss an ultra-precise trick. Zero enjoyment in that whatsoever. And I very much doubt I'm the only one who feels this way.

The other thing is too, when doing things like bypassing walls or exploiting the swimming glitch, it feels like you're not even playing the game that the devs made, in the way they intended it to be played, but instead playing some bizarre distorted version of the game. (Just my opinion.)

Sure anyone can run any category without glitches, exploits, & ultra-precise techniques, but it's impossible to be even remotely competitive without doing them. What I was getting at is that a category that removes these very hard to pull off tricks might be far less intimidating for most players to take a swing at, allowing them to achieve decent-ish times for the category.

For example, making the long glide in Icy Peak (essentially skipping the level) or the level skipping glide in Cloud Spires are the kinds of things that require a very high level of precision, and most players can't pull them off with any consistency.

Nice job! You used your starting units a lot more effectively than I did.

Will there ever be a category that is more accessible to casual players than the ones that currently exist? For example, a no-glitch category which bans things like:

  • Glitch exploits (bypassing walls, swimming in air)
  • Sequence-breaking techniques (trampolining off enemies, wall-scraping for extra flight distance)
  • Frame-perfect or near-frame-perfect techniques (such as bandit insta-takeout) I think this kind of category would be fun for a lot of people. Am I out to lunch on this?

Tried doing it that way many times in the past, my base always got leveled. Maybe I need to turn up the graphics? xD

Sorry for the huge delay in confirming your runs. I was busy with other things and hadn't looked at the website in several months. All runs now confirmed. Extremely good job on all of them!!!!!!!

"Dart (dead), Haschel (alive), Albert (alive)" But then you're splitting XP instead of funnelling it; seems like that would result in a slower run. "Before Dart dies he can be a slave to the others using boosters/healing items before dying." He can't. No items truly means no items. " Hex Hammer is the most difficult addition in the game when being countered" I would argue Demon's Dance. " If more than 1 runner is running a category it will be added if it's not a super-silly joke category." I would argue that no-items is less silly than some of the categories that currently have leaderboards.

Ah, so it's much easier than I made it out to be. The trick is to be holding the buttons while the screen is black so that the execution is flawless every time. Thanks for the tip!

Is there any chance that there will ever be a no-items leaderboard? And in a hypothetical world where there is one, what would be the best strats for getting the lowest possible time? And would emulators be allowed (ie: the one specified in the resources section)? What about segmenting? Maybe make it based on the in-game timer, like some of the categories already do?

Just spitballing here, as I've tried this category with an Albert funnel and a Rose funnel, and have done it slightly faster with Rose funnel, but am wondering if funnelling Dart or Haschel would be faster? What do you think?

If emulator is allowed, and it's based on the in-game timer, I would seriously consider running this category.

In Mayfil, there is a way to skip the dialogue where Rose talks to the spirits and her dragoon spirit glows. I'm pretty sure it's luck-based though. When you first enter that room you press down+O until you hit the wall and then quickly let go and press it again. Do it right and you will (maybe) walk toward the foreground and be able to avoid the middle part of that room, allowing you to skip the dialogue.

Ah yes sorry about the confusion. That scrin video I made was never meant to be considered an official campaign run. I understand that I had made it confusing, so my bad there.
